No sound on Windows exp...weird problem??

I have had my computer for years... working fine, then my sound all of a sudden doesnt work... I turn my computer off and when i log back in the sound is fine for a few seconds, then it just shuts off like somone muted it.

I have cheaked all the settings on my computer and everything looks fine... what could do this

It says the device is working properly

keep checking once a day on all your programs for updates

Check in the Windows "Device Manager" to see if the sound driver has either stopped working or has gone corrupt. If so, reload it.
