He made angels and man, and they both screwed up. Third time lucky, or is he afraid of failing to design the "perfect" being?
Or can't he do it again?

Some of you are using a semantic argument. There really is no other way to describe another species with human potential because everything can be argued one way or another. You know what I mean yet you do not answer the question; why bother if you're not going to answer properly?

But I'm not talking about the future, I'm talking about now. And please remember that "humanity" (I think you mean human kind since humanity is a conscience) is not at the top of the food chain. The technologies you speak of, well arguably everything has ... just because it's not what you think conventionally organisms develop adaptions which can be considered as technology.
You seem to be confused about intelligence. Obviously I'm talking about beings on par with human achievement. You don't need to look at gorillas to notice "strategy", just look at the ant.
Bear in mind though, is that real intelligence? A computer can perform thousands of calculations a second, but is it setient? Read up the Chinese Room test and the tests for conscience.

sentient being?
Like mammals and as we've now come to realize, birds are in possession of sentience?
I view the evolutionary process that affects every living thing on earth as a means whereby creation is as ongoing as life itself.
As long as there is reproduction and life on earth exists, the potential for creation of new sentient beings exists.
Bonobo chimps aren't sentient? Dolphins aren't sentient creatures? Elephants? Our pet dogs and cats aren't sentient?
I think your question is poorly worded. Some of those other sentient creatures appear to possess greater sense, perception and conscious thought than my fellow humans.
If humans or natural catastophe haven't destroyed all life on the planet by then, in a few million years I'm sure there will be many new sentient beings we haven't known.
Shalom :)
Edit: I forgot to address the notion you put forth above that angels "screwed up". It depends on which religion's dogma you're reading. The Hebrew Bible notion is that angels don't have any free will. There is no such thing as a fall of angels in Judaism. That comes straight from the Christian Bible and is not found in the Tanakh at all.
EDIT to your last additional detail about semanitics.
I thoroughly addressed what you said about " human potential". How would we determine now what species will evolve to replace humanity at the "top" of the food chain and perhaps even develop technologies that rival ours or exceed ours?
Einstein apty said that our technology exceeds our humanity.
Since Jane Goodall and others discovered that other primates also use tools, devise warfare, cooperate for the benefit of their community, form emotional attachments and make plans..the dividing line between human and other animal isn't so clear any longer.
The planet's surface may not be so hospitable to any primate in a few million years. We may have another animal form completely dominant whose sentience leads them to live in greater harmony with the world around them than we do.
Your question was purely speculative, and I used the reality of what happens with living beings in reproduction. Over time, species change with genetic variability.
It is now apparent you are looking for a specific answer to agree with an opinion you already hold rather than to explore or disocver other possibilities related to your own conjecture.
Shalom
MARK...that doesn't say that the creation of life stopped..God set in place all the processes of the universe. ( if you believe in a Creator that is )
The creation of all the ongoing processes of the universe at work around us..everything is changing and growing ..creation of new planets, stars, living beings..destruction of planets, stars and living beings..these processes will be happening until "the end" of whatever existence the universe posesses.
I'm going to go rest now, and that doesn't mean I won't start back up again later :)

Of course God could do it again, and perhaps has done so or is doing so. There are a lot of planets; how do we know what's happening on them? Thinking humanity is "it" is a limiting concept. Also, I sometimes wonder about the sentience of other mammals on this planet such as dolphins, who seem to have a higher level of self awareness, but that's speculative at best, also.

i might probably replace it each and every week or so as quickly as I have been given bored. i might probably enable conflict and violence just to make issues extra exciting for the inhabitants, yet i does not have any of them go through any demise or everlasting harm from it. The wars might probably be extra like splat-ball gun video games. i think of i might probably additionally incorporate a valid song, a minimum of the various time. There might probably be countless working gags too.

Third Time, According to Holy will / Divine plan of God:
2000 years before, A man was born in Bethlehem (Israel) to A VIRGIN by Holy Spirit.
He was spotless and sinless. There is no sin in His birth, life, thoughts, acts.
He Challenged the whole world:
"CAN ANY OF YOU PROVE ME GUILTY OF SIN????"
JESUS CHRIST IS THE PERFECT MAN & GLORIEFIED THE HEAVENLY GOD THROUGH OUT HIS LIFE IN ALL ASPECTS. HE IS THE BEST AND UNCOMPARABLE EXAMPLE.
