most states have a website you can look up. for kentucky it's called KOOL. kentucky online offender lookup. try doing a search for your state and see. or if you know the name of the prison sometimes that helps.

Ask his/her family.
Just remember, if they wanted too, it is easy for them to write to or call YOU....don't get carried away with the romantic notion of writing to someone in jail.
Wait for them to contact YOU, then you will know they really want to hear from you.
