I have 3 dogs two which shed lots of hair. My question is do i start to have the allergies because hair is shed and touched or because once the hair falls the dander floats in the air? Allergy tests show i am allergic to dogs therefore i am now starting allergy shots.

I know pet stores sell a special shampoo to help cut down on pet dander. The dander is almost always the problem. Try the shampoo your local pet supply store can advise you. For cats feeding them tuna in oil. helps cut down on the dander and allows my hubby to be around them a bit longer than usual. Good luck.

The floating dander is what's doing it to you, though the loose fur isn't helping.

try taking vitamin C - yes, I know this sounds too simple to work.. but vitamin C is an immune booster. You can't overdose on it, since your body won't store it, and it is dirt cheap!
It has to be spaced out throughout the day - try 1 gram, 3 times daily.. both my brother and I have been helped by this - it works as good as claratin, but of course is much safer and natural..

There are also allergens in the saliva. Seriously man, if you are allergic, put the dogs out.
