Blasphemy is a victimless crime. Therefore, we don't need blasphemy laws, and no civilised country should have them.

It might be in the interest of civil order to curtail actions that have the potential to incite social disorder. Further, the lack of civil legislation against blasphemy, would not make such an action either moral or prudent.

and maybe laws dealing with the tooth fairy could help the real world too...no laws needed,Islamic theocracies have these laws and many other such reprehensible laws that should be consigned to the dark ages where they belong so I would not allow laws like these to become a reality...

No, as one man's blasphemy is another mans prayer and freedom of expression is a human right. I love freedom. If you think there should be such laws... please get the hell out of america and move to Sudan or Iran or something

No. Religion and the law should be totally seperate. Fairy tales have no place in law.
Imagine if we had laws saying you couldn't say Red Riding Hood didn't exist?!

reasoned discourse and religious conviction are ancient enemies. blasphemy laws are by far the best way to protect a state religion.
