Ah I see that most people on here went straight to....don't complain rather than answer the question. If I had put on here that I was a christian would you have answered this question differently?

I think anything has an ability to be questioned - if we do not question we do not learn.

I don't mock nor put down a person. The only thing I will state is what I disagree with but that doesn't mean that I do not think the person has the absolute right to their beliefs.

Acutally no one has the right to mock someone else beliefs, monothiest or multi-thiest. I don't agree with it. However I have experienced Pagans telling me that I am brainwashed and basically stupid for my christian beliefs. I don't think that was fair either. I personally try my best not to offend anyone. I do have general curiosity and I have asked a question, that pagans took offense of. I shrugged it off said my apology and went on living.

The secret is not to take this site so seriously. Some people live to make trouble and insult you just because.

The right to question comes from having an inquisitive mind and is a perfectly natural human reaction when being presented with something that doesn't fit one's world view. It's how we learn. Flexible people ask questions.

Mock, and put down: If you don't try to impose your beliefs on me, I won't do that. I know it's kind of mean, but when religious people start using threats to push their beliefs on people, to me that's kind of like wearing a 'kick me' sign. Hard to resist.

Some people get offended when their beliefs get questioned in an objective, rational fashion. I reserve the right to do that. That is not mocking. That is debate and dialog. It is how ideas face up to scrutiny in both the scientific and the democratic forum. Some people would rather not have their ideas submitted to such scrutiny, but I say tough luck: I believe the scientific and the democratic are solid foundations of our society and I will not sacrifice it to anyone's pet beliefs, especially if that person would subvert those forums to their own psychological comfort - because I believe it's something worth preserving and defending.

Free speech gives me the right to mock and put down whatever I want to, as long as it doesn't constitute defamation. Though I can't recall the last time I insulted Paganism.

And the absence of Orwellian thought police gives me the right to question whatever the hell I like.

The only difference to my answer if you were Christian would be to remove the comment about not insulting Paganism, which would seem awfully random if you weren't a Pagan.

We have NO RIGHT to question, mock and put down your beief.I dont know enough about the other religions but, as long as you're happy and content with your life, then it shouldn't matter as long as you've chosen to take the religious route to PEACE. And that should be respected and as long as you RESPECT OTHER BOUNDARIES AND RIGHTS TOO. IT'S ALWAYS A TWO WAY STREET!

Anyone can question...there is no problem with that.

But mocking and putting down...that should not be done. But the weak like to use that tool...it makes them feel strong.

Not a pagan, but am a witch. Of course our beliefs are going to be put down. Per christianity we worship the devil and do exactly what the bible tells us not to do (Thou shalt not worship any other God before me), blah blah blah... Why should you care what anyone has to say? Hold your head up high sister! Everyone on this planet has an opinion about something. Also don't speak of your belief's with those who have a different belief system. You are honestly looking to be mocked and put down. Speak to those who share your beliefs. Don't share with ignorant antagonizers.

its called freedom of expression and is one of the most important rights within a free society, personally, however i would not mock your beliefs since ive never heard of a pagan intention to create a religious pagan state- unlike many forms of christianity that would like to bring about a fundamentalist christian state and take us back to the middle ages

So I am supposed to unquestionably accept what you believe? Thats quite totalitarian.

Mockery? I make it a habit not to mock people.

Put down beliefs..... Again I usually avoid that.

well honey, i have never made fun of your beliefs, i do however disagree with you, and in my heart and mind i believe that the only way to heaven is through jesus christ, and when i know someone hasn't accepted him as their savior, i do get a little worried and i do pray for you, i hope that my prayers doesn't offend you, i love everyone and only want to see them make it to eternal paradise instead of eternal damnation. i do feel obligated to share the word of god with others, thats just what my holy bible teaches me to do. but please understand that even if i share my beliefs, i'm not putting down on or making fun of others beliefs.
