You are just a little bit confused brother. Paul said be followers of me as I am following Christ. Let us put things in order. Are you an Israelite or a Gentile? In this present age of grace since St. Paul, Israel is the enemy of the gospel (Romans 11:25-37) Paul says listen to me, I am the apostle to the Gentiles (Romans 11:13) Christ Himself said, "I am sent but only to the lost tribes of Israel. Therefore Paul said in his 13 epistles that we are now saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9) under the dispensation of the mystery (Ephesians 3:1-11) and in Paul himself first the grace of God was given as an example to those who will believe later (1 Timothy 1:15-16). So let us be intelligent enough to rightly divide the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15) for Christianity is an intelligent faith based in an accomplished fact.

I do not think that they are necessarily,really and fully followers of either IMHPO
They often fall into "selective Bibliolatry". The same is truer of Islamic Fundamentalists and the case can be made of parallels among Antitheist Fundamentalists and Hindu Fundamentalists.
I see St Paul as a real follower of Jesus and the ancient Apostolic Church as revealing the Mind of Christ . I believe that the Catholic Church is,for all the faults and failings and sins of its members on earth, the true continuity of that Apostolic Church

Apostle Paul says follow me as I have followed Christ. We do not follow the flesh of a man, but his teachings & revelation of God's word.

The entire Gospel and complete Bible is in agreement Paul taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Paul himself said
Gal. 1: 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
