Hi friends! I have asked myself without number of times if there's any function name that can be used to subtract numbers in Microsoft Excel. We have product which means multiplication, Power which means exponential, sum which means addition. Do have any idea if there is any function for that

=(A12-A14) (EXAMPLE)
=(A12+A14)-12 (EXAMPLE)
=((A12-6)*A14) (EXAMPLE)

No, there are no functions, you simply subtract cells or other numbers from cells. :)

I'm not sure what you mean. Which edition of Excel are you using; 2003 or 2007? If you are using Excel2007, click on the "Insert" tab and then check the upper right-hand corner of the window for a symbol that looks like "∑". Or you can press "F1" on your keyboard and tell/ask (by typing) Excel what you are trying to do because from my point, your question isn't clear enough for me to put a finger on the issue.

If you want to subtract you just use the hyphen key. So you would type into a cell (without the inverted commas)"=90-45" and the cell will show 45. It really is that simple.
