No chance, with an adult.
There are millions of people out there, who could use them, not wearing Rx's, the exact equivalent of wearing *incorrect* Rx's.
Their eyesight is not going to hell in a hand cart because of it.
Undetected diabetes as previously mentioned would be a possibility, central serous retinopathy, (swelling at the macula), an acquired uncompensated phoria (binocular vision instability )...
There are lots of others.
I have known people with nuclear sclerosis cataract change their Rx so fast that their spectacles were out-of-date by the time they collected them.
Yes, there remain things to investigate, but you have no grounds at all to blame your glasses prescription.

One of the main things that people dont know is that diabetes 1st sign is your vision is affected. If you happen to be diabetic, and get an eye exam when your blood sugar is high, you get a false refraction, thus the trouble. there are other health issues that can contribute to this- I would talk to my general practitioner for more information.

I don't know if "serious" is the right word to use....hmmm I suppose you could STRAIN your eyes from having the wrong prescription....
You might develop headaches, etc.....but if you are seeing bleary....go to a NEW eye doctor....hey, its your money....and eye examinations are not free.....go to someone who knows what they are doing!!

If you wore them for a very long time, yes. But using eye glasses alone weaken your eyes even more. It's like someone who broke they legs and used a wheelchair for a very long time, they'd forget how to walk and would have to retrain their legs. Same things with eyes, the longer you use glasses the more your eyes depend on them to see.

Doesn't matter. Whatever problems you (possibly) accrue can be nullified with Lasik surgery.

Yes, and don't keep wearing them for heavens sake! They can and will make you eyes worse. Your eye's will become adjusted to the bad ones, and will start needing them. Put them down, now! Go back and get the right ones! please. Byee
