hi, i am planning a trip to new york city this weekend, and am terrible with directions. can you reccomend a map either online, or upon arrival that i could get to ease my travels?

Ok, it's been years, but the NY Port Authority put out a map, laminated, water-proof, three-fold, primarily for it's subway routes. But this thing indicated EVERY galldarned tourist attraction that they could fit in print. From the Bowery to the Bronx, I lived and died by this map for nearly a year. I Hope they never quit printing that thing. Then it cost about four bucks. Good luck and have a Great trip !

The best maps of New York City are made by Hagstrom. You can buy them at most bookstores in the city. You should be able to get them online through any large online bookstore like Amazon or Borders.com.

Every1 is a bad guide when it comes to NYC. I have toured this city through maps in mapquest.com.
I am from India and so it can really be a great help for a visitor..

If you or a friend is a member of Auto Club, they have great maps and places to go. Also, here are stores that sell maps specifically, and I mean lots of maps.

when visiting the city you have to use public transportation. this time of year, dignitaries from all over the world are coming to shop in nyc, so driving will be close to impossible. for the the map of the subway and bus system you can go to :

the best online map without a question is google earth you wont get anything more accurate i promise

You can buy one at any magazine store or convenience store... JUST LIKE YOU CAN AT HOME.
