yes, that's illegal to go out with a 18 years-old when you are 14! he might go to jail because of that. Find someone your own age.

This depends on a lot of different factors. Are you in high school together? What grade is he in and what grade are you in?
I remember when I was in 12 grade I was 16 and there was a kid who in 10th grade and he was the same age as me. So sometimes things like that happen, and some states do take that into consideration. Think of this too, if he is in 12th grade and you are in 9th? He will probably want to leave you when he graduates, and if he doesn't than something could be very wrong.
Do your parents know that you are dating an 18 year old? If they don't then yes there is a BIG problem. Also, there is a big difference between a 14 year old and an 18 year old. I would say you should probably date someone closer to your own age.

I personally wasn't even dating when I was your age, and neither were the majority of my friends. You really shouldn't try to grow up so quickly, you only get to be 14 once and let me tell you adulthood sucks, there isn't any reason to want to rush into it at all.

Ps. You really ought to talk about this with your parents, and if you can't then you know deep down that you didn't need to ask this question because if you felt 100% ok with dating an 18 year old, you would have no problem letting your parents meet him.

Yes, There are good reasons this can be a problem. When your older 4 years wont make that much difference. Sometimes it is better because girls usually mature faster than boys. But, at this age he knows how to manipulate a girl who might think she is in "love" and she can get really hurt. At 18 he is not likely to stick with one girl very long. Another thing is the legal side. My son was going with this girl when he was 17 and she was 14. One night just after his 18th birthday, they went to a party. They wound up sleeping together. She did not get pregnant. (That could have been another problem) but they broke up right after that. A guy that doesn't like my son was at the party and told the police. She did not want to testify against my son, but because he was 18 and she was under age, the State took over and brought charges. They made her come to court. He was lucky, They put him on probation and are making him pay court costs. ($700.00) He could have went to jail. She now has a bad reputation. So make things easier on yourself. And maybe even him. Find someone more in your age range for now.

While some legislation dealing with age of consent sets a hard and fast age under which sexual relations are prohibited, some jurisdictions have included exceptions to this. The exception can take the form of a defense at trial on the grounds of the close age of the participants, or can be an actual close in age exemption in the law negating any charges. The latter details acceptable age ranges for consensual sex between peers that otherwise would not be legal because one or both of the participants would be below the age of consent. The age differences of these two types of legislation vary by jurisdiction, from as low as one year (as in South Australia) to as high as ten years (as in Colorado).

Yes if you are, or plan to have sex while you are under the age of consent.

Age of consent varies is some states, but is usually 18, sometimes 16. I don't know of any place where it is 14.

You'll get a lot of answers about him going to jail and statutory rape. That only applies if you are having sex. At 14, you should not be having sex with anyone of any age.

Abstain from sex, and have your boyfriend develop a good relationship with your parents and it could be OK.

10 years from now a 4 year age difference won't seem like a big deal, but at your age it could be. You may well get resistance from your parents, you may find your boyfriend is not welcome at school dances, etc.

You should also make sure he likes you for you, and not because you are young. That would make him a pedophile, and you should steer clear of him.

For starters, it is illegal in most places. A 14 year old is not considered old enough to consent to sex, so if she were to have sex with the 18 year old considered an adult, he could be charged with statutory rape.
There is no good reason why a boy this age would want to date a girl that young, and no good can come of it.

Do you mean a car date? If so, you are not old enough to go out on car dates. It's okay if he comes over to visit you at your home, only.... if your parents are home. (Your dad, mom or grandparents). You should not invite him into your bedroom. It's okay if he accompanies you on a group thing such as a church outing. But a 14 yr. old girl should not be going out on dates.

Yes. He could go to jail. And it has nothing to do whether you cry rape or not.

He would wind up in jail if the authorities find out and probably be listed as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

DON"T THINK IT COULD HAPPEN ???!!!!!
