most people who are in the military and against gay people's enrollment are not really sure about their own sexuality (consciously or unconsciously). since while in war they are sexually deprived! otherwise why would they be against gay people's open participation then?

By military age, I think most people are fairly clear about their sexuality, and I don't think a majority of soldiers resent Gays in the military. I think the prejudices come from higher up, from long-standing tradition and men and women too narrow minded to change that tradition and live without bigotry.

Today's military...and the Pentagon...has a great many Evangelicals. They lead the cause against including "Sinful Gays" in the military. The troops themselves have little say in these decisions.

FALSE! Not sure if you're writing a paper or listening to someone making excuses for homosexuals. I am against gays in the military... right now anyway. It upsets the apple cart.

This country bends over backwards for minorities and it's hurting the majorities. We have positions held by minorities that aren't qualified or can't accomplish the tasks to which they were hired to do. I served with two women in Fallujah that couldn't do their jobs. They passed a class back home in Port Hueneme... gimme a break. I could get a retarded person to pass certain classes... that doesn't make them qualified.

Until this country can increase it's intelligence and be able to accept people for who they are (and those people will DO their jobs)... there will always be problems in hiring minorities regardless of what "category" they fit in.

I'm against gays and I love women... always have and I alway will! My guess is that your statement was made by a supporter of gays in the military and they're trying to use reverse psychology on us... it doesn't work!

Being "gay" is a learned behavior and NOT a genetic one... regardless of what the psychologists tell you these days. I think psychologists have done enough damage to our society!

False and stupid at best.

This sounds like something that could only come from someone who never served.

And people can change their minds about gays in the military. I am an example of that one. I worked with a gay man in intelligence. When it all came down to it, I would rather have had him than not had him as he was very good at his job and increased the odds of our success during a mission. Working with him changed my mind about gays in the military.

So, does that mean that it took me about 8 years to figure out if I was gay or not? Not even close. I think technical training more than resolved any question about that within a few weeks. I loved being in a co-ed squadron. Lots of ladies all over the place.

its not about being against gay people...its against wanting gay people in their rooms at night watching them sleep and change. its about not wanting to shower with another man that has different intentions than the other man does.

My husband is in the army and he is at war. He is VERY sure of his sexuality and actually has a gay man that is stationed there with him. (obviously its dont ask dont tell but..he tells...just not the right people). It makes my husband very uncomfortable and i think he has every right to feel that way. My husband may be sexually deprived but that doesnt mean that he has to go find it elsewhere. If you are in a committed relationship and a happy, healthy relationship why would they need to find it elsewhere? if people are worried about them cheating on them ESPECIALLY with another man then they need to take a look at their own relationship before they take a look at if they are cheating on them.

they aren't against them because they are gay..they are against them because of the fact that they have to live their daily lives with them. and some men just aren't comfortable with that and i think they have every right..again..to feel that way.

False, maybe they are afraid of a gay person trying something?

Think about what you are asking, you are saying that the entire military is full of sexually confused men... Wait, now that I think about it you might be right haha

I would have to say false.

I was in a combat MOS. My roommate was gay. He didn't bother anyone, he didn't bother me and everyone left him alone. He did his job well. No body really cared that he was gay (He never openly admitted it, but only to me). No one on his tank crew seemed worried about it.

Worked with other gay people in the military. As long as they do not act gay, no one cares.

I think the reason they are against gays is because they have been raised with the tough man mentality. That gays are pansies and and so on, in reality have been raised to be prejudice but many don't see it that way.

Most think of prejudice as only racial or religious but its not.

False, I know my own sexuality, and I don't really care if they are gays as long as they do their things privately and not in public especially when I am eating.

False, if you want to know if and why military members are against gays in the military, why not just ask?
