Not always.Others need to see that image constantly as a reminder of what Jesus went thru to save us thus they think twice before abusing this privilege of a second chance. But generally speaking, you're hit the nail on the head, you're absolutely right

Actually when doing the sign of the cross by belief it is no longer a barbaric form of Roman execution, why? Because that cruxificion of Christ is the sign that He loves the world, and forgives the world, He gave His life for us to save us from our sins and He conquered death and evil. By commemorating that we do the sign of the cross.

If that is what your little heart wants to think, dear, then think on! For those that want to use it as a symbol of His death and also a reminder of His resurrection, what should it matter to you?
If you just have a personal problem with it, ahy not just come out and say it instead of the beat around the bush tactic?
Jesus and the topic of Jesus is offensive to people and they will find a way to down, degrade and debase any and all types of topic, conversation and symbolisms about Him. To bad we can not be honest enough with ourselves to admit that. Hope you can get over it.
God Bless you and guide you into His Truth.

I dont wear one.
Did you know wearing a cross up Means you find yourself unworthy of dying as Jesus did.
Also the Peace sign is a Sign of purifacation when in the dark ages you paid to be put on an upside down cross and sawed from stem to sternum, to insure your passage to heaven

We are not "glorifying" anything. We are simply displaying a symbol that lets people know that we are followers of Jesus Christ and believe in His death on the cross and that He died for the sins of human kind. That is why it really bothers me when I see celebrities on t.v. who wear crosses and their actions are not very Christ-like at all. If you are going to wear a symbol that displays your faith, your actions better back it up!
Edit: Hey, great answer Cricket!

That really is and came from the Catholic traditions. At least Protestants have taken Christ off the cross. But the Bible admonition to not make any graven images at all is still a valid Bible teaching and many Christians just follow that rule and have no images at all.

Nope.
I wear a cross to remind me of the fact that even such a barbaric form of execution and torture couldn't hold my Savior down!

Most Christians don't display crosses, crucifixes, or other pictures, etc. to represent Jesus. That would be worshipping false images.

The cross is a symbol of idolatry and has nothing at all to do with Jesus Christ. And yes I am a Christian!
