morning

what i have been wondering is what can a professional fumigator do that someone themselves can't do in terms of spraying carpets, with insecticide spray.

I have done this myself, been very very thorough yet fleas have still come back.

I am interested in getting a professional to do it now but can they actually get rid of them? how can they get rid of the eggs in carpets - surely nothing can touch them?

what can they do differently

please reply? thanking you

They have access to stronger chemicals than the general public has access to over the counter. You will save money by using a professional because you only pay them once instead of buying the otc stuff over and over.

As far as I know, there is nothing an exterminator can do that we can't. There's no reason an exterminator would have access to chemicals that a vet doesn't. I often hear that exterminators have been called and haven't worked, so maybe even some don't use the right chemicals for flea treatment. I suspect they just use the same chemicals for fleas as they use for any insects, and that's no good.

What have you used so far? I can guarantee that no flea product bought from a pet store is going to work. Not for the animal, not for the house. You need to stick to veterinary treatments only, because they're the only ones that work.

It's not that veterinary flea treatments are stronger than store-bought ones, it's just that they're different chemicals - ones stores aren't licensed to sell, sadly. Email me if you need further advice on which flea products to select for your house and home - flea treatment is complicated, but I do not think exterminators are necessarily the answer.

For a start they have much stronger insecticides - stuff that we wouldn't be able to lay hands on. Its no use using Bob Martins or similar if you have a strong flea infestation. They will also be far more thorough in where they put the stuff. I don't know what you used but I use Stronghold on my dogs and cat every month plus annually I treat my whole house with ACCLAIM from the vets. That keeps my house clear and I have 3 German Shepherds and a cat xxxxxxxxxx
