Wow thank you so much. No one will ever understand what you just said. Televangelists are thos in the Bible that says do not use Gods word as a means of revenue and to tickle peoples ears. And today on Tv they never preach what people need to hear but what they want to hear with their 30000 people church. Its so sad tho because all of those people in the congregation are being taught false doctrine and dont realize that hes just preaching what they want to hear "That you are going to heaven" How does he know that when Jesus said only His Father can open and mans heart to hear His word by the sending of the Holy spirit. But to be honest the term christian is overused in our world today for the sheer fact that everybody calls thereself one just because they go to church or for whatever else reason. If you stood in a garage everyday would you be considered a Car. Thank you for your sympethy as you can tell i got a little frustraited and i get so offended when people miss the point of what being call a christian means. It means being Christ like and following in His steps and no we cant ever be perfect but with a clean heart and straight path i realize who my saviour is and fall to floor and thank God everyday for Him opening my heart. thank you very much even people who call themselves christians wouldnt get this.

Not really. That is not what it is all about.
But as far as your friends and family go, maybe they are more the churchgoing socialites than the actual "you must give up your life and follow me" borne again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Raw Christianity is an in your face annoying belief. We are dealing with serious eternal matters and Jesus didn't wussy foot around. He was beaten almost to de-th laughed at spit upon and nailed to a cross to die as a Catullus for the faith that we walk in. How mush less should those who claim to be following him be.
But in this life we are also to show the same compaction he showed. Usually Jesus was angry, and argued with the religious leaders of his day.
I think many church goers of today would be following those people Jesus argued with because they did notable religious things. I doubt that many of today's church goers would really give up everything to follow Jesus.

The nuttier the Christian, the more true to Christianity he is. Consider Muslim terrorists. We call then "radicals" but according to strict Islamic belief, the 9/11 hijackers are in Paradise right now.
People that adapt their religion in order to coexist in civilized society may be logically minded, but they are deviating from the principals of their religion.

I do get tired of the main-stream media blaming Christians, but I'd go farther and say that the hypocrisy is in the eye of the beholder and is a very tiny percentage. The media hates Christians and paints them as hypocrites for their own entertainment. Don't you see the hypocrisy of them doing that?

It is the same as any sterotype whether it be racially based, sexually orientated based, or preference of religion based, you will have the people out there who hate "organized religion." It is sad because most of them are guilty of what they are sterotypically accusing christians of.
They should remove that log out of their eye before they starting honing in our specks.
Edit: To Rebel Yell: So your answer is to blame them all huh? Brilliant strategy. Want to burn us all at the stake?
Oh to answer your question, I get more saddened than tired. I feel sorry for those people who are so shortsighted.

Yes, I do, and I am tired of being told that I am a stupid idiot who deserves only disdain and ridicule while at the same time I am told that all atheists are sooooo respectful and accepting of those who have different beliefs.

Yes...but I watch Fox News and the 700 Club (Pat Robertson). I believe they are absolutely right about most issues. We will be persecuted for our beliefs. It was prophesied from the beginning. Many will come in His name but their hearts will be far from Him. If you have ears, PLEASE hear.
