Used in Frei's test is a skin test for venereal lymphogranuloma inguinale using an antigen produced with pus from patients with lymphogranuloma inguinale (called Frei’s antigen).

Such clinical test tries to check if the patient is infected with the the injected "dead disease-causing microbe" which positive skin reaction indicates an infection.
