well i like r&b and rock (may be pop too).
I'm an atheist that is hiding under the orthodox christian label...
My parents were christian and i had no choice since we become christian when we are babies. However i don't believe this religion and some aspects of it make me sick... I can't believe sth without proofs and i think the whole religion nowadays emphathizes in details ( clothes , sexual choice, no premarital sex....) and has lost the true sense of love. I do believe in a superior power that i haven't define yet but mostly i believe in love and kindness between people , we should care for each other and not waiting for god's help.

That's the thing. We as a society (particularly here in the good old USA) love labels. Primarily because it is a way to distinguish between one group and another (read: pick whom to feel superior over). So I don't like labels. But if I must bear a label, it would be Christian.

While I call myself a Christian, and I am, I do not identify with any 'religious' group. I have heard that doing so can be beneficial, but I have not reached that determination yet.

There are quite a few Christian 'religions' I purposefully don't align myself with, because I don't agree with them or their practices.

God is not interested in religion, he is interested in a relationship. I am free to change my mind at any time. If I am not hamstringed or bound for life by any rules or regulations--real or implied--I can't be tied up. I made an informed choice.

My spiritual beliefs (I already clarified the idea of religion) are this:

I believe that Jesus is the son of the one and only true and living God. Who gave up his heavenly position to come to earth and live a human life.

He did this knowing he would ultimately sacrifice that life on a cross on Calvary to save those who would believe in him from the punishment for their sinfulness, and to reconcile them to a right relationship with God, so that those believers would have eternal life. He died, was buried, and rose on the 3rd day. Jesus is alive and well, sitting at the right hand of his father today.

I believe that God and Jesus comprise the 1st and 2nd Persons of the trinity: God the Father, God the Son, the 3rd Person is God the Holy Spirit. One God, yet three separate spiritual beings.

I believe the role of the church (the body of Christ, or Christians) is to fulfill God's command to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

Our role is to also demonstrate as much Christlikeness as possible in our daily lives: love everyone and do as much good as we can out of that love for our neighbors. We are also to live a life of trust in and obedience to God's will as revealed through his word.

I believe that salvation is through Christ alone.

My faith, hope and trust are firmly in God's hands. He has not let me down yet.

***************************

As for you, I appreciate your honesty. I hope you find the answers you seek. I also hope that they lead to a revelation of the truth about Jesus Christ and salvation, but whatever your decision...

God bless you. Hope I helped.

I'm not religious, Why? well the word is interesting. it means: "re" to do something again & again, & "Ligare" means to tie-up, to bind, to restrict. I cannot think of a more "apt" description of what most religions do.

If you are Christian then your "Saviour" said "Set the prisoner free" (in other words, do NOT be religious!

I believe in being committed to a sacred and loving relationship with Jesus Christ, if you have never experienced such a thing, which I highly doubt, you should get into it, you will never go back to what you were before.
