Corinthians 2:14

"But the person who is not a Christian does not understand these words from the Holy Spirit. He thinks they are foolish. He cannot understand them because he does not have the Holy Spirit to help him understand. "

Ha ha ha...

He can't understand them because his brain works properly and he isn't given to delusional thinking. I don't call that spiritual retardation...I call that sanity. The Bible has plenty to say about non-believers, most of which boils down to name-calling and threats (two invalid forms of argument).

Do you think that anyone in it needed "the Holy Spirit to help him understand"?

(1 Corinthians 2:14) But a physical man does not receive the things of the spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot get to know [them], because they are examined spiritually. NWT.

The wording of the King James version has been changed subtly to try and support the [ false ] trinity concept.
To give the Holy Spirit the characteristics of a person, when in fact it is God's POWER, not a personality at all.

No one is damed for eternity. Our death pays for our sins.
(Romans 6:23) For the wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.

Wages is full payment. So once something is paid for [ sin...by death] there is no debt left for which to be further punished, spiritually or otherwise.

1Co 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
2Co 2:4 For out of much affliction and anguish of heart I wrote unto you with many tears; not that ye should be grieved, but that ye might know the love which I have more abundantly unto you.

You are changing the words in the verse in the book of Corinthians. However I will answer your question. If you are retarded spiritually, you are damned while still living.

People understand religion in different ways. Someone with an intellectual disability might have a different understanding of their religious teaching than someone with an iq of 180, but that doesnt mean they are any less developed spiritually.

Spiritual retardation can only come from a refusal to accept what religion has to offer, not from a defect of personality or an absence of a skill.

The clear answer is to repent and be saved in order to receive the Holy Spirit. I did it. People do it everyday. What's your excuse?
