I want him to put me on anti depressants. I have already been diagnosed with depression, anxiety and self mutilation. My GP gave me a referral to a psychologist but at the time i didnt feel like i needed it.
I feel like i go through stages with it and now that i am back on the contraceptive pill i feel like my depression is getting out of control again.
I would go to the psychologist but i dont feel like i need to talk about anything. I just feel like i am depressed because i am depressed.
Is he going to give me what i want?

the contraceptive pill has been linked to depression in the past, something to do with hormones. Yeah i would like to get married one day and have kids but i dont think thats the point

I'm way out of my league in this section, but my sis suffers from depression. She found it was worse when she was taking a contraceptive pill, but got considerably better when she switched to a combined pill.
I don't think anyone can understand unless they are in your position, but one thing I would say is that the best progress my sis has made has been without medication. The inherent problem with medication is that eventually you have to stop taking it, and if you haven't sorted the root of your problems, they will just resurface.
Best of luck to you ..... always here if you need cheering up (if only it were that simple) ;-)

As a veteran of both therapy and anti-depressants, I have to say that being that you are depressed and anxious, you DEFINITELY need to talk to someone. Usually, when you are on drugs, the psychologist will require you to talk to a therapist at the same time. Both docs I've seen in my life required me to do so- maybe yours will be different, however, the therapy didn't last forever. After a few months, when I began to get regulated and start feeling better, the therapy slowed and halted, and I still stayed on anti-depressants for years afterward. You really should talk your issues out at the beginning- it will help you so much. You cannot rely only on meds to fix your head- you've been through a lot and you need to organize yourself and get your life together, and this is what therapy is for. Even if you only go once every 2 weeks or so, it really helps. You may think you have nothing to say but they can break down walls you didn't know you had. I suggest at least give it a shot once- it may make a world of difference. Email me if you want to talk.

I don't know if anyone can give you what you want ... you may not even know what that is.
I was having problems staying awake after I had my daughter and I was put on Welbutrin and it is like crack ... IM UP.
But I also have anxiaty and that gets worse with this so ...
You just need to keep seeking help and if one thing doesn't work, you try another and another and another ... I mean this is the price you pay to keep your life. It's small and there are so many joys to come in the future, it's worth it.

depression is a two edged blade. Medications help, in that they will make you able to think clearly. But without getting to the root of the cause, thru therapy, the meds will not benefit you. Eventually, you will crash again. So, suggest you do get some medications on board, then use that clearer thought process to get to the bottom of your issues causing the depression to begin with.

Yes now a days doctors give out antidepressants out like people give out candy on Halloween. And you don't have to go to a psychologist to get them you could just go to your regular Doctor.
Good Luck

i suggest you see a psychiatrist first to get an accurate diagnosis. a psychiatrist can also look for any pysical causes of your problems, such as thyroid condtion. a psychiatirst can order medication if necessary, and then refer you to a psychologist, who may give your therapy to help you. any psychologists in canada, were i am from, cannot order medication.

How can you be diagnosed with self mutilation?
And we can`t tell you what your doctor will do for you. It depends on his outlook on the whole thing. I won`t comment on mine.
