its the way you may 'complement' them
for some women whisting or hey hotty or something like that can be insulting
it could also just be timing
i mean if she just had a horrible day then, in her mind, gets hassled my some jerk would make her very mad
she may also not be mad at you just at the whole day and taking it out on you

Don't include all us women. I happen to appreciate it when a man compliments me on my dress/looks. Whatever ticks the others ones off, is anybodies guess. I think they're screwing with you. Why else do us women primp and preen if not for the attention it produces? I like it so, don't give up too soon lover. You'll find some ladies, I guarantee it!

Sometimes it can be a turn on, It really depends on the personality of the lady in question, and what kind of "compliment" you are giving. Get to know them before saying something you might regret.

The best thing is to compliment on something new not everthing from what i know ladies dress to show off to other girls and compete with other girls so its kind of girlish to be complimenting all the time.

no woman secure in herself would find a compliment a turn off. Those that do, having little self confidence, think you are lying and therefore become defensive and angry, probably thinking you are making fun of them. These are women to avoid, you will spend your entire life trying to convince them of something they do not believe about themselves.

Maybe you're looking at her like a piece of meat when you're complementing her? Maybe you're sending a message that you only value her for her looks? Maybe she's thinking that you don't care about a word she says?

OMG! you are complimenting the wrong lady, it probably wouldnt matter what you said if she dosent like you, find another that will treat you right, and dont stop telling us how good we look, just dont act like a perve when you do it.

depends on if you compliment a sexuall part of their body., ladies tend to view that as perverse and get turned off. the only time thats ok is when she is your girlfriend or wife then its sexy.
