I've been in a serious relationship for 6months now. However, i've not told him about a bank loan that i have and it's eating me up when i put in mind that he has revealed his skeletons to me and i cannot do the same.The reason is because I want to pay it up on my own as it is my debt and don't want him to feel like he needs to help me out. It may take me 2yrs to pay and as we are considering settling down together before then, when would be the right time to tell him ?

I always think honesty is the best policy. Sit sown with him and have an honest discussion about it. Tell him what you think and how you feel about the whole situation, exactly as you described them here, to this forum. You are thinking of settling down and honesty is absolutely necessary in order to have a future..You'll see he'll understand and everything will be resolved and fine.

please do tell him before you get married. he will appreciate your honesty becase if you do get married it will be his problem too. you don't want him feeling like you just trapped him into a debt. you can add that you want to take care of it yourself if you feel that will sound less tragic to him. but I believe if he loves you he will support you one way or another.
