Earlier I had very good eyesight, 2 years back. But maybe because of using the computer too much my eyesight has weakened. I'm using specs now. But I don't like them. I'm thinking of buying contacts. But does it hurt? How long does it take to get use to it?

Thanks all of you for your answers. I will go for contacts and glasses now. But I want to know if shortsight get cured completely without laser surgery.

here's a very helpful tip: get daily wear. they are slightly more expensive. they are way thinner and have a more natural feel to it. you wont even realize that you are wearing them. You are supposed to (per directions on the box) throw them away at the end of the day. However, I have been using the same pair for over a week. As long as you keep them clean and hydrated, you can reuse them. Of course your optometrist and the contact makers dont want you to know this. But I know that you can do that. they lost a law suit a few years ago over this. (I don't want to bore you)
anyway, the important thing is that get dailywear. Don't get the monthly or bi-weekly crap.

I tried contacts but couldnt get used to them.They can do laser surgery if its caused by Stigmatism,when ur eyes are slightly too oval.Personally i just wear my glasses for tv, reading' computer and driving,not for dates or work haha.
