My Maincoon cross is a slim 5.5Kg and is fit as a flea.

How heavy is your cat and what breed is it.

3.5kg-4.5kg is average for a cat, but certainly a cat can be slim and trim at 5.5kg, they vary a lot! Your cat must be quite large!

My cat was 3.3kg her whole life, apart from one particularly voluptious winter when she was 16 where she swelled to -oooh - 3.5kg. She was a little thing.

I've met 8kg cats that aren't fat (Maine Coons) and recently, a 3.8kg cat who was extremely fat! She's a tiny little thing, I've got her on a diet to shrink her down to 3kg!

I have 3 - all "rescue" cats.
The smallest, white with black splodges, is just like Felix on the advert, in temperament - never stays still; even when she stops her tail keeps moving.
She is a tiny 3.5 lb maximum. We really should have called her Minnie!
The other 2 an ailing silver tabby and a common traditional fat tabby.
Our ex Abi (RIP) weighed just over 14lb.

My cat weighs 8lbs (3.6Kg)... we got her from a Rescue Centre so don't know how old she is, or what her breed is.

They said she was 4 years old, but I think she's much younger and from looking at the internet I think she is a Somali http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somali_%28cat%29

When we got her she was really skinny but she has definately grown (in height as well as weight which is why I think she was probably a kitten) and although she is probably still considered on the small side, she's looking much healthier...

Dog training are excellent and very helpful to build you a stronger relationship with your dog. Read more http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?SbNX

Well, my dog didn't know what hit her when he arrived. It was like boot camp for dogs, lol.
But I tell you, in the space of 2 weeks of teaching me how to train my dog, I was already seeing great results.

Especially if you have a little horror of a dog on your hands which clearly shows that she is this way because you let her get this way which in turn shows that you don't know what the hell you are doing as a dog owner.

Don't take offence to that because I was exactly the same way. I have a 5 year old jack russell and when she was 3 she turned into a little nightmare and it was because I let her get that way. I had no idea what was going on. All I knew was that she was fighting all the time with my older dog and I had to do something to put a stop to it. Turned out to be the typical dominance issue thing with my younger dog wanting to take over the household and then the world no doubt.

I got a trainer in who was excellent. He moved to Australia from America where I think he used to train police dogs and he spent a good time with me on the phone before I employed him to come and train my dog. He is also a dog behaviourist and I tell you, any question I threw at him he could answer and explain and advise on.

I saw him about 3 or 4 times but to this day I say every cent was worth having harmony in my home. It was either that or I was thinking of putting my dog on medication or getting rid of her. I'm so glad I took the responsibility to fix the problem in the right way. My little dog has turned from complete monster to very well behaved, loyal and obedient little angel. She still has her moments but she knows who's boss in the house and it definitely isn't her.

Go for it, do your research, get references, try to get someone who has behaviour as well as training experience and you should be okay.

My cat is at least 17lbs. I thought he was a fat cat but my vet thinks he has maine coon in him and that that would make him a good weight for an adult cat. He is definitely a big boy compared to most cats I see and compare him too but breed specific it is fine... BIG CATS RULE!!

My cat is from the Animal Shelter. She is a beautiful unusual long hair cat, more brown, with white under her chin. She is fit as well.

My tabby weighs in at 14.5 lbs. The vet says she is a little overweight, but not obese, and not to the extent that we should worry. She is just a little round :)
