I have really thick, curly, frizy hair. it is the worst! so almost everyday i've gotta straighten my hair which is a total hassel to do. so i've been thinking of getting my hair permanently straightened but i hear a lot of negative things like, there's been cases where you bald at the age of 30.

I don't knowif this is true or not but i'd like clarifications.
and some pros and cons if you wouldn't mind ;)

Jerry,
Having your hair chemically straightened is a serious process. It is the single most damaging chemical you can put on your hair. That said, you find ONLY an experienced professional to do it for you, and you can be very happy with the results. You need to continue using professional conditioning after wards, and must have your new growth re-straightened about twice a year.

NO you CANNOT go bald using these products. You can, however, overuse or misuse them (especially if someone inexperienced or you yourself apply them) and break all -though not usually all of it- off very near the scalp. It will grow back, in it's natural state. The chemicals do not penetrate the scalp. They can be used to varying degrees of "straightness." In other words, you can create anything from stick straight, to wavy, to still very curly, and everything in between.

If you decide to do this, be sure you find a salon that has been doing straightening for at least 10 years on a regular basis. Have them do your hair a few times before you have it straightened so they get to know what you want, and how you would like your hair to be. You should also like the person who does your hair. You need to be able to communicate with him or her to accomplish your goals. If you don't like the first one, try another one until you find someone you trust. Permanant Hair Straightening is the ABSOLUTE worst thing you could ever do to your hair. it might last a little while, but the minute it goes away your hair is worse than ever, on top of that, its really expensive and it not even worth all that money. please, do yourself, and your hair a massive favour and dont do that. you are soooo much better of straightening everyday! ( although that isnt the best thing either)

I have been permanetly staigtening hair for about 12 years, it is not damagening to the hair. In the case that you owuld like to make sure your hair is healthy no damage to it witch means no split ends. Your hair should be atleast shoulder lenght or the process will not work
