I've never used leave-in conditioner before. How long should I leave it in & do I rinse it out? Also what are some good brands?

If you don't rinse then how come every one is suggesting things such as 2-5 mins?

A leave-in conditioner is meant to stay in your hair until you wash it the next time. Read the bottle carefully because it will help you decide how much to leave it. Many are just too gooey to leave in, even though they say you can. Those are usually for curly or fuzzy hair, they provide control. If that's your hair type, experiment with either Jhirmack or Nexus conditioners. If your hair is straight, I don't recommend using a conditioner meant to be left in the hair. Nexus has a few conditioners, so buy them at a salon that can help you figure out which one is best for your hair.

2-3 minutes. Yes you have to rinse it out to prevent your hair from becoming damaged. Good brands are: Tresseme, Garnier Fructis, Herbal Essences, VO5.

I believe you should leave it in for 10-15 mins. This is to allow the conditioner deeply condition your hair and help your scalp as well...

..like...till the next time you will wash your hair???
Leave-in conditioner is what it's name says...
It consists of milder ingredients that can stay on your hair without getting them heavy or greasy.
A good choice is Pantene, Magic Water (the best in my opinion) but it differentiates from one to another how a product performs...
The best thing to do is to change products from time to time so to get better results.
