Because they are philosophies. They are not religious beliefs and the after life is nonsense.

Legalism, and Confucianism was founded upon Taoism or rather the writing of the "Tao Te Ching" ( a writ based on Psyhcology & philos,

To over generalize that the three above mentioned school of thoughts do not believe/or focus in a afterlife, is a hasty & inadequete attempt to label something or to even try to understand truly.

I don't think they did because man can't "earn" his way to God. The three methods you speak of all have the belief that man has something he can give to God to make him happy. Man can't give God anything. God owns EVERYTHING! That's what makes those systems so sad is that when it's believers die and go to God they will think God "owes" them something and they won't make it. It's just sad.....
