I know that the FSM is a ficticious deity created by an Atheist to mock theists. I know the basics of its inception--it was a concept introduced by Robert Henderson a few years ago, as a model deity to help protest Intelligent Design being taught in Kansas schools.

But I am curious as to the deeper nature of the 'religion.' Is there any actual doctrine, life-lessons, etc... that have been developed as part of Pastafarianism since its inception? Has anyone delved further into what Pastafarianism truly is?

To ask in simpler terms: you know those 'Star Trek' dorks that can speak fluent Klingon--are there also FSM dorks out there that have actually formalized Pastafarianism? And if so where can I find their Holy Cook-Book? Wiki kinda comes up short.

I'm not looking for inspiration or enlightenment (maybe amusement, though). I'm just curious... again, I know it's a deliberate fake. (Atheists, I point that out to protect myself from my own brethren... no offense meant to y'all

Stop telling me to check Wiki. I said in the original question that Wiki didn't tell me much... that's why I wanted to find a better reference!

Hmm, I see that many answers already have given you the link to the official Church of the FSM.

I'm glad that you know of the origins of the FSM. Many people don't think it is funny simply because they don't know how it came to be.

May you be touched by his noodly appendage!

Not too sure. Sorry. But on some college campuses
( like mine ) the devote FMS fans pass out their 'lit' and are willing to talk all about, for hours in fact. I had a good laugh once as a few seemed really 'turned on' about it.- I feel bad saying that, as I don't like laughing at any ones beliefs.
But since it's a fake on purpose, mind you! It's okay, err right? :( 'Sides I wasn't laughing at them or their beliefs, just their enthusiasm about a flying spaghetti monster.
Yep..I still feel bad though...

If you're a university student or professor you could ask around I'll bet you can find those "dorks" with ease then. :P

( Hmmm..does staring your question count as me helping you? I know I didn't *really* answer your awfully nice question.
But I do wanna help, so that counts.
Oh' doesn't it? Doesn't it? :D )

By the Prophet Bob ! Methinks thou misunderstoodist the word ' Parody ' .

Star Trek was never a Parody . Bob just did what a lot of us thought about doing. In the past when you mocked God you were hung by the neck or expelled from School or teased and beaten up at school.

Prophet Bob was there at the right time and the Right place. He just re-invented other Parodys dating back 100's of years. Maybe in the next generation there will be a few ' Dorks ' for you to amuse yourself with.

Sorry friend, there is no FSM, I just ate him for dinner. The venganza link is probably your best bet.
But for many of us, the FSM and jokes about aren't intended to offend theists. Anyone who uses it to that end is silly. And I truly hope there are no 'FSM dorks' although there probably are...

Random House publishes the formal Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I know Amazon carries it.

I'd be suggesting Googling.

Having said that, spirituality can be found anywhere. I know people who found spirituality in Discordianism - who had an equally non-conventional origins.
