I adopted a shepard mix breed.. Shes never had a home and was a stray most of her life until someone brung her to the kennel.. They were about to put her down and I decided to bring her home.. She is a great dog, very calm and laid back.. but she acts really scared and shy. Do you think she will grow out of her shyness...

She will. Just give her lots of love. There's a chance that in the past she might have been abused. Let her sleep with you if that's allowed in your house.

she will if you build her confidence. the best way to do this is not to coddle her. i know it's easy with all she's been through, but if you baby her now she might exhibit poor behavior problems later on. put her on a schedule for feeding, exercise and playtime and potty. once she knows about what time and in what order the day will happen that will help build her confidence about her new home. make sure she's well exercised this can help curb any behavior problems in advance. plus also getting her out and accustomed to new surroundings and smells often will help her confidence level. also find a training class you can take together. shepherds are very smart and love to learn and please. the class will not only strengthen your bond but also will raise her confidence level and she won't be so shy and scared. good luck and thank you for saving her!

The only way to get a dog to grow out of her shyness is to get her out and have her socialize with other people and other dogs, otherwise the dog will never grow out of it.Take the dog with you every where you can
