Curious about this....
I myself am a Republican, but I know some who claim Christianity and have Democratic views...

How is this possible?

Ok so let me ask this, say a Christian votes for a democratic President...we will say Hillary, she is for abortion, homsexuality, Oh and not to mention she is a woman usurping authority over a man, millions for that matter....
The leader of our country....

You don't think you will be held accountable for that on judgement day?

Don't get me wrong, I do not by any mean think all Republicans are saints....just a little more godlier....

Actually, not being rude, just asking a question....easy now...

AND yes, my husband IS a soldier and I believe the Republican support the troops a little more than the Dems.

That is funny, I have to say so, I'm in a stand still, I am an election supervisor, and don't know that I can say, but lets see Some republicans answer to everything is being a crook, raising gas prices, and starting wars, getting innocent lives lost, and killing, democrats in disguise take health benifits, support abortions which is killing, and are crooked too, so let see, most have the hidden agenda, money seems to take priority over anything, and when we put money above God, then that isn't a Christian, what we need is someone who doesn't need a trillion dollars, who has a good plan, who wants peace, who actually cares for the people, Oh that is Jesus, He'll be back, I'm sure the country will be more messed up than what it is now, and if you pay attention they are taken away more and more of our freedoms that God gave us, can't pray in school, can't post Gods Word..

This may be not my topic since I'm a Honduran, and I don't live in the U.S. But I'm familiar with the Politics through the Glenn Beck Show. And I'm a Christian. So here it is

I can't begin to express how wrong that question was. SO WHAT IF THERE IS A WOMAN FOR PRES. you sound like you Just hated the Women suffrage. Those are her views, Now I'm against abortion, And Homosexuality must not be discriminated on. Like Rev. Al Sharpton once said, I may not agree with your decisions but I'll fight for your right to make them. And I consider that the term Civil union must be used. Why have you people both of you forget the Dream that made your now screwed country the Best in the world? A Dream about equality and respect to one an other, About Civil disobedience when it was called for, A land of free speech instead of just designated free speech zones. And don't you Liberals throw Bush to the picture because God Knows you have done nothing to stop him. But instead you go around insulting people and live in ignorance about the rest of the world.

Then again, That's The views from some one who is neither an American nor A citizen.

If the last presidential election was a close-run thing,
and at least 75% of Americans consider themselves Christians,
Then proportionately it would look like at least one third of Christians vote Democrat.
(and that requires assuming all non-Christian voters do!)

If you are a Republican Christian you may also not be able to understand how someone can be a socialist and a Christian.
But there are many.
(when did your preacher last use Acts 4:32-36 for a sermon?)

Christianity doesn't "fit" into either political agenda - it's not about being Democratic or Republican. There are parts to both party's agendas that coincide to Christian values and parts that conflict. The thing is to realize your loyalty lies with Christ and not with a political party.

(Just to give you some ideas of things that Christians might like in the Democratic agenda: environmental responsibility, caring for the poor and the sick, striving for social justice and equality).

Peace to you.

Wow! Have you actually ever read the platforms of the Democratic and Republican parties? There is nothing more un-Christian than conservative Republicanism! If anything, Jesus would've been a Socialist. Do you honestly believe that God supports tax cuts for corporations and the wealthiest 5% of Americans? Come on!!!

WWJD?

Would Jesus continue to poison the environment for the sake of the economy? Bush does.

Would Jesus even consider for a moment vetoing the SCHIP legislation extending health insurance to the poorest and neediest childen in America? Bush did.

Would Jesus borrow money from his grandchilren to pay for a war he wants to fight now? Bush is borrowing from your grandkids and mine for just that purpose.

Your question is perhaps the most ignorant and insulting I've seen for quite sometime.

Edit:

"usurping authority over man"?!? Oh my goodness, you have revealed just how backwards your thinking really is. Men are supposed to rule the world, are they? Grow up.

Excuse me but I am a Christian and a lifelong Democrat. It's rather rude to think that someone can belong to a particular party and not ascribe to every single one of its tenets. Do YOU believe in wasting $3 trillion dollars in Iraq and at the same time not supporting fully our troops and especially our veterans?

Response: I think you should read up and follow up on how the Republicans in particular (the Administration) are failing our troops and creating another Vietnam-type fallout. I don't know who I follow but there is no one candidate who exactly makes me want to vote this time. I happen to think that Dick Cheney is guilty of treason--yes a serious charge for serious actions on his part during the past seven years.

It is type of self-righteous talk that makes people take jibes at Christianity...focus on your own relationship with the Lord and stop worrying about other people, please. That means not posting mean-spirited jabs at other Christians.

Not anymore...not since the smarmy religious right got their hands into the politics jar and declared all Republicans = Christian and vicey-versa.

There was once a thing called SEPARATION of Church and State (look it up)...but looks like that's all going down the drain.

Being democratic does not mean you are FOR abortion or gay rights. I am a democrat and a Christian because I believe in social programs to help the poor (Proverbs - "He who ignores the cry of the poor shall himself cry out and not be heard."), funding public education (Proverbs - "He who instructs his son is wise" - in fact, most of Proverbs has to do with getting wisdom!), and a more equal distribution of wealth (Matthew - I think!! - "He who has two tunics should give one to he who has none.") I think unfortunately while republicans are right on with their stance against gay rights and abortions, they seem to hoard all the money for the upper class, while shafting the working class. God and Jesus honored those who work menial jobs... think of those who he called to be his disciples - fisherman, tax collecters, just regular folks.

For the same reason an Atheist can be a Capitalist.

Religion is not politics and politics is not religion.

Um, they're a Christian who checked the "Democrat" button on their voter registration card? Why is that impossible?
