Some people here seem not to be able to tell the difference between "Climax" and "Turning Point" (which makes a big difference in a sexual context!!!)

Climax is the ultimate end point and as such it was VJ or Victory in Japan day, following the two A bombs.

D-DAY, Stalingrad, Battle of Britain etc were all potential turning points or key moments....they were not the climax of anything other than a battle.

The climax would really depends on your point of view. Certainly the Russians would tell you it was Stalingrad, but westerners don't see that. The Normandy invasion was certainly a high point.

Although, since WW2 also included the Pacific Front, its hard to come up with a bigger event then the unleashing of the atomic bomb.

I don't think one can really say a war had just one climax, especially a war fought on so many fronts by so many different nations.

Climax means the end. So, the climax was the broadcast of the Imperial Rescript by Japanese Emperor Hirohito on August 15, 1945 in which he told his people that they must now "bear the unbearable and suffer the insufferable", because Japan was conceding defeat.

I'd say the D-Day invasions were the climax. The Allied forces had finally landed in Europe.

What are you decided from, D-Day, the Battle of the Bulge, etc. I would say D-Day, because after that, the Axis was always on their heels. Although that also may be said about the Battle of Britain.
