Maybe you've heard of Megan Meier?

She was 13 and hung herself after a neighborhood mother created a fake profile on myspace. The mom acted like she was a hot guy and then broke the heart of the over weight 13 year old and posted nasty comments about her weight and called her a slut.

Do you think the mom should be punished?

Actually Roy, she did more than be rude. People get in trouble on the internet all the time for pretending to be some one else to have sex with minors. Why shouldn't they get in trouble for pretending to be someone else to mentally abuse them?

I don't think she should be tried for murder but she shouldn't be allowed to be a mother. Her kids should be taken away from her.

I saw this story on CNN tonight. I was disgusted by actions of that mother. Not only was this poor girl bullied but she was intimated until she could not take it any more,

Yes I believe that woman should be punished, especially since neighbors say that they are not remorseful at all.

How horrible some people can be. Bullying in school and on the net and now mothers are coming into the picture doing their own type of bullying.

I send my condo lances to her family and if I were them I would start a law suit against them for financial compensation, that usually gets them up in arms. Or they should file a criminal laws suit against that woman.

People who kill themselves have serious issues, this just set her off. The mother isn't the reason she killed herself though.

Regardless, no the mother shouldn't be punished. She didn't do anything except be rude, which is in every person's right to be. I'm sure she feels horrible and learned her lesson anyway.

Yes she should. I've never heard about that... that's horrible! What's wrong with people?

That's basically murder in my eyes. Driving somebody to suicide is no better than killing them. Maybe she didn't physically kill her, but she obviously killed her will to live. She knew it was only going to hurt her.

Absolutely SICKENING.

if this is true, then the woman who did this is sick and twisted...

It is called cyber-bullying.
The girl's parents can have her prosecuted for that.
