About 6 months ago, I decided to start offering fun face painting for birthday parties, special events, stuff like that. Well, the good news is, I am super busy, and booking lots of events. Now, I think it is time to think about what I should be wearing to these. I want some type of costume, but I HATE clowns, they freak me out, so no clown costumes. Any ideas for what I could do to make myself look alittle bit more the part of a real , "Face painter"?? Also, I have started doing animal balloons too, so I want something fun. Thanks for all ideas!!

Maybe you can coordinate your costume w/the kids' parties? Like if it's a cowboy theme, then you're a cowboy/girl(sorry I can't tell if you're male or female by your avatar) etc. The face painter at the park dresses up like a princess. I hope I helped a little. Good luck!

You can do fun colours like clowns do & just not do your own face. Hats are always a fun way to go too.
One of the best places to get info on ballooning & other ideas is from a company called T. Myers.

I have been doing balloons & face painting for years. This company is the best to order supplies from. They are fantastic.
They have great books & videos too. Most of the books I used to learn more about balloon stuff, I borrowed from my local library. Must less expensive this way.
Have fun & good luck.

A few possibilities come to mind:
1. Dress like the cliche of a French artist, in a loose smock with a big floppy bow at the neck, and a black beret
2. Dress like a housepainter, in white overalls and "painter's hat", with a bandanna in your pocket.
3. Wear whatever fits and feels good, only in vivid tie-dye, head to toe.

I think face paingting is a magical thing.
Take a look at what magicians are wearing. I think you may like it.
