How come every time I sign on to Yahoo! Chat I get bombarded by Asian women? They're mostly Filipina, but sometimes Vietnamese, Thai, Indian and even Palestinian try to chat me up. They ususlly want to chat cam2cam or exchange pics. Just what are they up to? Are they just practicing their English? Are they looking for a husband? Or are they trying to get me to send money or planning to misuse my personal information?
I've found that they tend to chat regularly with me for a few days and then they seem to stop signing on. Anyone know what they're up to?

Most Asian women, not only Filipinas, want a way out, but for different reasons. Some want a greener pasture, some just want to have a husband they find exotic (like how many Western men prefer women from a different race), some plain ones would like to have improvement of the race (most mutts are generally more beautiful/smarter) and some would just want to move to a colder place (if they're from Southeast Asia). The women you've chatted with either wanted something from you and never got it (whatever it is..favors or money) or didn't find you interesting enough, plain and simple. I'm not saying that you're not likeable, but they have probably a set of preferences which they can't compromise.
I'm a Filipina and I used to go to chatrooms a lot when it was still a nicer place..meaning not too many bots and people were there to chat for the sake of having fun, clean conversations and not sex chat (yuck to the highest order). But I never did go there to hunt for someone with a green card. Green card doesn't mean anything to me. I have a job that can keep my body and soul together and provide food for people I support and no matter how people think it sucks to be here in the Philippines, there are things here which I love that I can't get from anywhere else in the world--the sincerity of friendship and the kindness of many strangers. I don't need to go anywhere because this is my home. It's just it was my fate to meet a very wonderful guy here on Yahoo Answers and wherever we stay in the future, here or there, will never be a problem. I'm not dying to reach America or anywhere else.
I'm not telling you this because I want to put my fellow Pinays on a pedestal, because some can be scheming like the rest of the shrewd people in every nook and corner of the world. I just want to educate you and the people who answer your questions that chatting with Asians is not about green card all the time.
And btw, there's nothing wrong about wanting to chat cam2cam, as long as they don't offer sex or pay-per-view..hehe. Aren't you glad to see your chatmate smiling back at you? :) Isn't that wonderful?

maybe most people on the chat room are asians, you should check what time you log. there are lots of Filipinas all over the world so no matter what time you log, you are sure to find one. filipinos in general are very sociable and hospitable, its a cultural thing,
they like to know how the person at the other end looks. how one looks tell something about what kind of person you are. this would explain the cam2cam
they are not practicing english i assure you, filipinas are thought english since grade grade1 at time even as young as their first word.
they are simply out there for chat. you can't b thinking that they are all spies looking for your personal info. should they cease to log after sometime they must have found other stuff that keeps them busy, probably a new work. or maybe, its not as interesting talking to you as it was initially. it just like dating, sometimes it simply does not work out to go to the next relationship level.

Not all asian women bec. i'm asian too, probably they just want some1 to talk to on-line. But most of them if they are in the Phils. want to marry a foreigner just to take them away from the Phils. bec. they thought that foreingners or white men have lots of money..some will just use u.If they tend to chat u regularly then for a few days they will stop signing on. It means they just need something or they couldnt get what they want fr. you. Dont mind them, ignore!!!Smile and goodluck!

Looking for husbands to take them away from The Filipines. That is what I was told by a Filipina lady. She said that the reason is that there are very few jobs there, and opportunities are not very good for a Filipina woman.

They probably just want to marry you so they can get a green card and so on. It's quite fairly common for that to happen.
