The next President will have no choice.

The enemy is going to continue their war against us.

I don't think that they should. Really though, there's always going to be terror. Always. Unless for some reason there is divine intervention which stops all the hate, the prejudice, the thoughts and emotions that we all have, there is going to be terrorism.
America is doing it right now, bringing fear to other people, scaring the people of their own country.
The "War on Terror" is not really a war on terror. When was the last time Saddam Hussein and Iraq attacked the United States on his own? Umm, he never did. We all took the fight to him.
There is no War on Terror, there never has been a war on terror. If there had been, we'd still be searching for Bin Laden, Al Quaida (SP?). Instead, we've gone into Iraq for no "apparent" reason. Oh look, Saddam has weapons of mass destruction. Yeah, and so do we. A hell of a lot more of them.
Anyway, no, I don't think our next president should get us involved in this silly thing called the War on Terror.
Fix our schools (Free!), fix the budget, give us our freedoms back, fix health care (universal!).

The next president might continue to use that phrase but there is no such thing as a "war on terror". It's just a slogan for the weak minded and easily led. Terror is a mental state and terrorism is a tactic. One can make war on neither.

We don't really have a war on terror. The invasion of Afghanistan was a war on terror. The Iraq war was not a war on terror. And now - it's just an occupation. A true war on terror would start with diplomacy and trying to get a peace agreement between Israel and it's neighbors, along with a Palestinian homeland. A true war on terror would also consist of cooperation between the U.S. and our allies in bringing a united front in dealing with those nations which support and align themselves with terrorists. Finally, a true war on terror would include strategic strikes when necessary against terror cells in those countries which do not or cannot control terrorist activities.

No! Cause what are we afraid of? This war on TERROR has had America scared from day one. We have had the colors green, yellow, red. I think we have been in red since 06. Most Americans are still bitter from 911 and want to kill any and everyone that looks, smells, or even acts like a terrorist. War is not the answer to ever tragedy that happens to us. By this war we have lost so many U.S. Solders and occupied a country that wasn't even involved in 911. And since they couldn't find any WMD, they have tried to justify this war on the assumption that they terrorist. This war has been and is bad for America. God bless our troops though!

The next President should and will continue the war on terror. We have no choice but to stay on the offensive in order to protect both American lives and interests. If the next President chooses to pull back it will only embolden our enemies.

The 'next presidency' will HAVE to continue fighting war, one way or another.
The present presidency CREATED enemys that will NOT forgive, ..OR forget, ..OR relent.
Thats my opinion,.. Mothers / fathers / brothers / relitives / friends morn there dead...and the last few years have insured years of mutual resentment.

Vingence .. what a pity!! .. what a waist!! .. what tragidy!!

I think we will always have the need to defend ourselves from terrorism, regardless of who takes office. However, I'm tired of politicians using potential terrorism to create an atmosphere of fear in order to further their own political agenda. More people die from diseases than terrorism. How about allowing stem cell research, and then we'll talk about the war on terror.

War on Terror. War on Drugs, War on poverty, war on homelessness. We still have these problems....

The best defense is defense. Lock up our borders. Check every shipping container, More cops on the streets, do more covert operations that type of thing.

The occupation of Iraq has nothing to do with Terror!!!
