I'm 16 and as long as I can remember I've wanted to be a sniper. I'm a very outgoing girl, and I'm really strong to. I grew up with all boys and they're all in the armed services. They love it. I love a challenge! I'm in 3 different martial arts classes and I'm top of the class. I have a brown belt and two green belts. I go hunting with my father and I love guns and I love to shoot. I also love to fight. My only refferal was for beating up a fellow football player. I play football, and I love the thrill the game gives me. I would love to be in the arm services, but I don't like medical and I wanna be front line. I can prove myself to anyone. I know it's not like halo, but I wanna do this. It's just kinda messed up that my gender is keeping me from my aspiration.

All I keep hearing is were distractions, well hell if a man can't keep it in his pants thats his problem. He's probably a slut anyways. The period thing diaper, duh! Cassandra-sama you seem like a very strong female. I know it's tough to see people that you grew up with persuing your dream. You know what someday people like the "big strong" army guys are gonna need your help. Going through bootcamp might be a way to prove your self showing that you can make it. What about being a rescue swimmer, saving lives and being in the heat of danger. Keep dreamin' kid your gonna be of great importants someday. Keep showin' the men on your football team just how strong we can be.

Sorry to have to tell you but outside of auxillary services, there are no women in army or marine infantry combat units much less snipers. The air foce security units allow sniper cursses fo women but that's hardly the type you are hoping or. Not because there are no capable female marksmen (on the contrary, as a group, the best snipers in the russian military during WW2 were women) but that's just the way it is. Who knows, you might be the 1st, but for now, you really have very little in the way of options.

Air Force Security Forces is the only job that allows women to attend Sniper Training. Might look into that, however, realize that its a 1-1000 shot of actually getting a slot. MPs and SF both allow women and both fight.

I'm not sure but the best way I can think of becoming a sniper for females is to go threw the Air Force. They have sharpshooters in the security forces and women can try out for it. They're pretty much snipers to a SWAT team.

I don't know about other branches, but you can't be a sniper in the Army. As a matter of fact, you can't be combat arms except for air defense artillery. I guess you could be MP and be very very good at shooting at your own time. You could also get into competitive shooting like the NRA high powered rifle. Joining the armed forces is not about proving yourself to anyone, it's about the desire to serve and protect. If you are thinking about joining just to prove yourself, then you need to mature a bit before you join.

Despite your qualifications and need to be a "Sniper" the course is not open to women, Snipers are trained for combat, women members of the Military are not allowed into Front-line combat, so training you would be a waste of time and money in their eyes.

The main issue is, women aren't allowed to be infantry, so you really can't be a sniper. At least not, in any modern military I know of. Even in militaries outside the US, women are generally barred from combat situations like that.

Folks you can give me all the thumbs down you want, but women can't be snipers in the military. I am not saying that they lack the ability, they simply aren't allowed to be, look it up.

Whoa, you are scary. Why would you want to do this so badly? You sound crazy, no offense. I used to take martial arts and I ran into people like you all the time as an instructor. You are the type of person I'd label "unstable".

Find another outlet for your violent streak, channel it into something positive. Why not play basketball or darts if you like challenging your accuracy?

bb415 is right on the money.

Who says a gender is keeping you? I am one heck of a shot. I am very accurate. Can shoot a fly picking his nose. Course I am in my fifties, but still. Don't let gender stop you. You sound like you can take care of yourself. The armed forces could use some one like you.
