7 (for Queensland numbers)
then the 8 digit home number. So if the home number is 45825449 you would dial 0061 7 45825449

You new jersey (where ever that is) are way behind the times.
Australia got rid of Dial Phones 23 Years ago. We use Press Button Phones which are much better as your finger cant get caught in the hole.
Some day you will get them and you will find them better.
