GET OFF THE COMPUTER, Clean the mess up, put the dog away, and get yourself something else to eat.

Then I'd suggest you visit a trainer to help you learn to deal with his behavioral issues.

Hope he had a good meal. :)

LOL I work with problem dogs, and I have one that is so clever he will slip in the moment I am not looking!

What I do is set a distance of 10 feet for them to stay away. It is called claiming the space. You need to be consistent with this, they cannot come over until you call them. When you start, just keep backing them into the space you select by moving toward them - you dont need to say anything other then a hsss at then to let them know you are displeased!

Be prepared to do this the first time as long as 5 to 15 minutes - the younger they are the longer it takes to get it, it seems.

You will find this to be a wonderful solution. I have a tape of a Beagle I just rehabbed with food agression to provide an example of them waiting for permission for food. It doesnt matter if it is theirs or yours, at the link below!

My girlfriend's yellow Lab. would take the kids peanut/butter/jelly sandwiches off the table as they were eating. He'd funnel them into his mouth off the paper plates. I have small dogs that can't reach the table. Go get your dinner away from your dog and tell him NOOO.

So why are you just watching him? And why was it within his reach? If you havent already, clean-up what mess is left, if there is one. Make yourself something else to eat and blame yourself not the dog. I agree with the others, he needs better manners. You both need training.

Put the dog out before it goes through it's system.

And from now on, the dog needs to be outside when food is prepared.

did you feed him before he ate your dinner? scold your dog but not too much......you might ruin your friendship.....after you scold your dog, say sorry, give him love, show him that you still care and next time, don't forget to feed your dog......he might do it again
