By asking which is worse, you're implying that one is better. They're the same. Someone dies approximately every 30 minutes from a DUI accident.

Legally, they are the same.

Common sense says that if its illegal to take drugs period, it is twice as bad to ingest drugs AND to drive afterward.

My personal experience shows that it all depends. Someone with a BAC (alcohol) of 0.25% will be more dangerous on the road than someone who smoked a little weed. But I've also seen people so high on crack and heroin that they are least as bad if not much worse than a drunk.

Driving while impaired in any way is bad and should be very strongly punished. (I like Singapore's approach.)

On the other hand, stoned guys usually drive below the speed limit and THINK they are speeding whereas the drunk is flying down the road asleep.

Both are bad enough but the possession of drugs will be piled on top of the DUI.

They both impair judgment I would think that is enough not to do either. Why risk yours or someone else's life at all? It's Ludicrous either way

They are both equally stupid. The only difference is that alcohol is legal. Assuming you're 21 anyway.

In most states the punishment is the same, so neither is WORSE.

drinking and driving is worse than smoking pot and driving. DUH people, stoners are so freaking SLOW! but doing crack and driving? Or heroine and driving? just as bad as drinking and driving!
