It is true that it is hard to find a religeon that is based on unselfish love and brotherhood, as you can see in current events with religious involvement. Christianity has been reformed, however Protestants, Lutherans, and Catholics, among many other Christian religions have not been able to abstain from involvement in war. Buddhists in the older oriental times have been used as spies and have attacked other nations and killed in the name of heaven. And muslim extremists have casued strife and terror among even our local Americans.
The Jehovah's Witness' have not practiced war, and have not put up sides in war. In WWll Jehovah's Witness' were imprisoned in concentration camps for remaining neutral and not taking up arms for Hitler's Army. Jehovah's Witness' strictly follow bible principals, and believe that practicing war is a sin, and that "the sword will be made into plowshares". jehovah's witness' have been persecuted and victims of other
Jehovah's Witness' are found worldwide and practice the same principals, unlike other religions where location may affect the religeon your practice. Jehovah's Witness' show love to one another as brothers and sisters. Hope this helps...

The love & unity among Jehovah's people is astounding.
There isn't another group that is so organized and united as the witnesses.
Not only do we unitedly study the same information at the same time in over 235 different lands but to think you can visit any of these areas and a brother or sister would gladly volunteer to help you with lodging.
We also publish not only the bible but study aids in 100's of languages.
In the event of disasters, Jehovah's people lovingly draw together, worldwide, and support each other. During the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina there were no witnesses left or forced to spend the night at that (dome) structure.
We are noted for showing up, being organized and rebuilding much faster than the Red Cross or FEMA.
Not only helping out our own brothers and sisters but also others. Fixing roofs and what ever else is needed.
We are neutral in politics. We believe that only Jehovah's Kingdom is the answer. One God, one Kingdom, one faith worldwide. No boundries, no killing.
God is not partial, Acts 10:34,35 tell us Peter said; "For a certainty I perceive that God is not partial, but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him."
Every nation, every color, every person has the offer of the good news extended to them. It's up to the person to decide ... take it to heart or be stiff necked. Exodus 32:9-11 is very clear. Jehovah said to Moses, he called the Isrealites "Stiff necked" and his anger was ready to blaze against them. Moses proceeded to soften the face of Jehovah. He plead for those people. Later at Deut 9:6,7 it reiterates how the Jews with their "stiff necked" attitude had provoked Jehovah by their rebelliousness to the point of almost being annihilated. Enough was enough. Jesus opened the way for all. He witnessed to everyone. When he witessed to the woman at the well that was a big deal. Not only was it a woman, she wasn't even a Jew.
If you have faith then you know that God no longer favors one group of people (previously the Jews) He offers all humans the opportunity to have a relationship with him.

Christians follow the teachings of the Bible. As such you are commanded to follow the laws of the government/land. There are many accounts in the Bible of wars that God himself sent the Kings to fight. Christians go throughout the world to help hurting people who don't have enough to eat in Haiti, Africa, India and other third world countries, erecting livable housing in such places like Cambodia, providing medical care all over, building schools, opening safe houses for victims of genocide and children forced into prostitution, developing oprhanages for homeless children and spreading the Gospel to all nations. Even when it means literally climbing over walls to speak the Word to the thousands of people who traveled days to hear what the Lord has for them. That's real love. The kind of love that thinks of others and alleviating their suffering before seeking their own comfort.

Jehovah's Witnesses are well known worldwide for their refusal to take up arms in any war. They maintain strict neutrality. They take their stand alongside ancient and modern-day true Christians who, in every nation and under all circumstances, have endeavored to maintain complete neutrality as to conflicts between factions of the world. They do not interfere with what others do about sharing in patriotic ceremonies, serving in the armed forces, joining a political party, running for a political office, or voting. But they themselves worship only Jehovah, the God of the Bible; they have dedicated their lives unreservedly to him and give their full support to his Kingdom.

Mr. Lizards R Cute:
You are correct about the misinterpretation of the scripture.
But even though the word is 'murder' not kill to enlist in the Army or even the police department you are knowingly putting yourself in a position to take someones life.
Which is murder.
Don't worry, Jah is a merciful and forgiving God.
Just ask.

Everyone should know this question and its Us: Jehovah's Witnesses are the only ones that DO NOT take up arms in any war!
But many who do not know our beliefs should go to their local Kingdom Hall and http://watchtower.org
Proverbs 15:2 "The tongue of wise ones does good with knowledge, but the mouth of the stupid ones bubbles forth with foolishness."
Again Edge DOES NOT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT! Its really sad but hey maybe one of these days he will ask one of us instead of other people who spread lies about us. What do you think Sisters and Brothers?

For a fact I know that Jehovah's Witnesses do not take up arms and engage in warfare. This is the ONLY group that takes Isaiah 2:4 literally.....check it out.
This is a slogan that is engraved on the U.N. building.....after you've read it; tell me if you think the U.N. is adhering to it.
