I tried this photo idea one day with my daughter 9 years ago. Go to a nice park with playground equipment. Go during sunset when you have that warm sunny glow.I took one whole roll with me and posed her all over the equipment. Some shots were of her playing and some of posed shots.A few were of her looking into to sunset away from the camera. Just food for thought.

If your son is pretty young still, I would say don't use a lot of props. I find that baby pictures tend to come out best with a simple blanket or quilt, maybe a stuffed animal. You could try setting him on a blanket on the floor, or some other surface (couch, crib), keeping your camera fairly low to the ground. If he's at crawling age, you might be able to get him crawling towards the camera, reaching for it, ect. Anything outdoors would probably turn out well also. Good luck!

How old is he ?
I used to keep a 3 ring binder full of tear sheets from magazines that had poses and props that I liked or thought worked well when I was doing portraiture. Swing by the grocery store or someplace they sell periodicals and look through some family/ child magazines. They are chalk full of good idea's.
I really cannot get more specific without a bit more info, age interests ect.
Hope this helps...Keep shooting!!!
