Honestly? My dad. But I guess you didn't want a serious answer.

My dad coming home drunk with the boat oar was always more terrifying than anything I had read or watched on tv/movies. I used to go out of my way to watch scary movies just to see if they were scarier than my life. Haven't found one yet that scared me more.

Nothing to be sad over though, that part of my life is over now. I like who I am, I love God and my husband and they love me. I refuse to be boxed into blaming my childhood for all my problems.

Yeah, mostly just the dark. My Dad WAS the Boogie Man (it was a joke). The only thing that really scared me was the dark, especially when walking up stairs (something might grab my legs!) or hopping into bed (under bed monsters!)

My parents never said anything to give me this fear... I think it was inate. I was scared of the dark well into my early twenties. I still pray (and ask God if it's safe) whenever I go outside in the dark!

I grew up religious but for me that meant having hope. We never talked about satan at all... We talked about the good things, such as loving our family members, being kind and tolerant to others, growing gardens, making things (eg clothes, dolls, fixing cars, etc) and helping the "poor starving kids in Ethiopia" (who would so much have liked to eat my left-overs!)

The boogie man scared me more. I didn't know what satan was....But I did see masked men enter the house next door when I was 3, and I thought they were boogie men.

It was many years before I believed they were robbers and not some evil thing that would come and get me.

The men were white with hankerchiefs tied around there faces. It was awful.

The boogie man. I could've sworn I saw him in my closet a few times at night! I've been a Christian since I was a child and never feared Satan. I feel that I have a protection over that.

Disappointing my parents.

Oh, sorry - of your choices...hmm
None of these. I wasn't raised hearing about satan, (no fire and brimstone). I'm a child of the 60-70's from a forgotten little town. No myths or stories either. Maybe this is why I've always felt different than others. I was not scared as a child.

I had no time for the boogie man or satan. I had no mother to fall back on and my father was quite distant. The general public scared me more than anything else.

Boogie Monster.
I had a cousin that convinced me the boogie monster was real.
Back then we could call our own number by dialing the last 4 digits and she would do that and tell me the phone was for me and get on the other line and scare the crap out of me.
Honestly I was traumatized for a while.
One time she convinced me he lived out our boat and I refused to go on boat rides for a long time. One time my day took me on the boat kicking and screaming..I jumped out in the middle of the lake and almost drowned.
She was very cruel to do this and she did it anytime she babysat us. To this day if I saw her I would kick her Azz.

Waaaaaaaaaay back when I was about 8 or 9 YO, my parents let me watch "An American Werewolf in London" again and again till I knew it almost verbatim........ I then suffered a terrible fear of Werewolves for years to come!!! The B@stards freaked me out on an almost nightly basis, they even followed me to friends places!!!

Then when I was about 22yo, I became friends with a Gay Werewolf called Pebbles....... he used to shop at the Quicky Mart where I worked.............. Therapy anyone?

No mythical creature. The thing that scared me most was the atom bomb when the first one was exploded. I heard people talking about atoms starting to explode and the whole world explode before it quit. LOL My family had vivid imaginations even though they were school teachers.
