my mom says that if i want a dog, i'll have to clean my room for 2 whole months. Being 12, it's almost impossible. how can i restrain myself from throwing paper and junk on the floor?

it's just paper, not food.

Keep thinking about how much you really want the dog. =)
Take extra time each day to make sure stuff is in it's rightful place. ^^

Ever heard of a trash can or a garbage bag? Try getting one of these and put it near the place where you usually throw your junk. Why would you want to throw junk on the floor anyhow? Aren't you afraid you'll get bugs and mice in your room? You say it's almost impossible ... being 12 you should not be throwing junk around your room any way. You know better then that so become responsible and get a dog. It's pretty simple.

Don't blame your age. If you think you have to throw paper and junk on the floor, there is no way you are responsible enough to care for a dog! They need lots of companionship and their personal servant.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!! finally someone that understands what im going through. i want a yorkie soooo much but ma mom said i have to keep my room clean until she thinks im ready for one. i just dont want to get one after im 13(how anxious i am of wanting one) what i do honestly is keep them in a pile close to one place that i am the least because i wouldnt be there a lot and i wouldnt throw all the way over there. i also have a mini trash can in my bedroom next to my computer and whenever i want to throw something on the floor, i put it in there instead. its kinda like rehab but it's working for me. gud luck!!! byezz

If you want a dog badly enough, you'll be able to do it.
Your mom is smart. A dog is a big commitment. Keeping up your room for 2 months is NOTHING compared to caring for a dog for its whole life.
If you can't do that, don't get a dog.
Sorry.
