"MOST" is a generalization AND an assumption. Naughty! Naughty!
Um... God is not torturing them, they torture themselves, because it is THEIR CHOICE (as it is YOURS) to NOT believe in Jesus' gift of salvation.
Why did He bother to create humans? Because it was His WILL to do so... “for His pleasure.” Revelation 4:11 says, “Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.” Colossians 1:16 reiterates the point: “All things were created by Him and for Him.”
Now, may I go back to my knitting?
Have a blessed day.

When Jehovah created humans they were created perfect and had the prospect of living forever in a paradise earth. All he required was for them to respect his Sovereignty (by not eating the fruit that belonged to him.) They sinned by being disobedient and they brought sickness, old age and death to all their offspring. See Romans 5:12
So Jehovah provided a ransom for us; an exact equivalent of the life the perfect Adam lost. This was the man Christ Jesus. He paid the price to buy back the prospect of everlasting life on a paradise earth (or heaven as the case may be) for all obedient mankind. Romans 5: 18, 19
explains this.
Jehovah has given us a choice. We can acknowledge his Sovereignty and be obedient to his laws or we can do our own thing and accept the consequences. He respects you enough to let you make the choice.
Hell is mankind's common grave and not a place of burning torment. We can discuss the reason why this is so if you want to email me at jann_johnston@yahoo.com. Your question is really interesting. It's not reasonable that a loving God would torture persons forever, is it? The worst punishment meted out to a murderer is death. The thought of a burning Hell is really a satanic idea.

As a Christian, I don't see it that way. I believe that a life dedicated to desires, to worshiping things created by man, lead to a separation from God, a "hell." And for me, Jesus is the good friend who helps me connect with God, (to escape from "hell") time and time again.
There have been so many times in my life that I have tried to find peace through my own will, my own efforts. But it has only been through doing God's will, with an emphasis on compassion for all people, that I have escaped the lost feelings I felt. By surrendering to a loving God, I found peace.
I do believe God loves us, and knows we are imperfect. Like the father in the prodigal son story, He simply wishes for us to come home, to celebrate with Him. While I am a Christian, I do not believe my way is the only way. All the best.

lol, I think most christians would say it's the devils fault
but yea I agree, so I don't see jesus as the only path to salvation, I dont think you even have to belive to have salvation, you can be atheist and be a good person
but this is ofcourse assuming that gods a good, kind person, he might just be like us, sort of vain and bad tempered lol

I have stuggled with this very thought in my own life. However, maybe this will put it in perspective:
If you think life on earth is too short to live for God - think about eternity seperated from Him - where you will have what your heart truly desires - life with out Him.
I don't know of a single religion where it's God provided a way to Himself. He sent His son to die for our sins - and our sin is what seperates us from Him. Pride was and continues to be the sin that is man's downfall - I know best and I want it my way....
"As for me and my house - we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

God loves us all. He created us, and is sad that most of us will reject him, and live for the glory of ourselves and not him. He lets us choose the outcome of our eternity. Either we choose to follow him while we are on earth (being made fun-of, maybe even tortured for what we believe in) or we choose to do what makes us happy on earth, and have to pay the consequences in eternity. Which would you rather choose? There is hope though. Thanks to Jesus dying on the cross, we can be forgivien of our sins, all we need to do is ask God for it. But we need to sacrifice for God. We need to tell others the good news of his great love. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day, and he is lives. In order for us to go to heaven, we need to believe in God, and his son, and we need to repent for our sins, and we need to ask him for forgiveness. We are so blessed that God even loves us, when we are so disobediant towards him. I am a Christian, and proud of it. I know I am not perfect, nor will I EVER be, but by the grace of God I can live in happiness forever! You all call the shots. Choose God, or choose yourself. Ask God for forgviness, tell him you are sorry. God is love, and if you love God, good things will happen. I hope this answers your question. Have a great Christmas & New Year!

If most of the people end up in hell it kind of explains why this world has been at it wits ends. Maybe these people where put into place to test the rest to see if one is worthy to go to the Ever Lasting Place. It's called weeding out the bad apple.

I go to a UU church (yes yes I go to a church) and the reverend spoke today of how salvation is a bargain. You must do certain things in order to recieve it. Whether its "believe" of having faith or forsaking all other gods, etc, most Christians faiths believe you MUST give yourself in order to recieve salvation. It's a bargain. Universalist orginally believed EVERYONE has salvation based on being human. It is for everyone, no strings attached.
I'd but into that WAY before I bought into traditional Christianity.

How can there be a hell if god is all-loving? Answer there is no god nor is there a hell because both are made up. If god was real and was all-loving then there would be no need for hell nor would he let people suffer.
Is it because god can not prevent these things? Then god is not all-powerful. If he can but does not want to then he is not all-loving.
