Your question really makes very little sense. Best you think it out more before you ask these sort of things to get the best answers you can. If you are hand raising puppies and they are 3 week old you can start next week with some puppy food. I have found putting the puppy food in the blender, adding baby rice cereal, and the dog formula mixing it together in the blender like a shake and putting a little in a shallow dish is easy and good to start with. You can warm it slightly, put some on your finger, then let them taste it, have them follow your finger down to the dish and let them try to eat it on there own, or if they wont you can spoon it into there mouths. You can add some canned puppy food to make it smell more apealling. DONT STOP THE FORMULA. They need to nurse at least 5 to 6 weeks. Even if they do eat the hard food they need some formula too. Too many people make the mistake of totally taking formula away from puppies too soon, it can cause problems with growth, joints, and bones later in there puppyhood. Dont do that. Call a vet or a local Humane Society for more better up to date information they will have a lot to tell you.

The food that I fed my German Shepherd Dog pup was a dry food for puppies because a good puppy food will have what he needs to grow. I do not know about your dog but mine doesn't reach maturity till age of two, that's when he has reached full growth. He is on a high end dog food now that contains no grains. You can ask your vet about this or better yet have your Mother ask. I am sorry that your previous friend got hit. You do realize that you should be training your new friend now right? Also some people food even given only as treats can cause problems like diarrhea so best to stay away from it altogether.

Congrats on your pups! I have weaned many pups from bottle feeding and I usually start introducing a "gruel" (good quality puppy food mixed with warmed Esbillac or "Just Born" puppy milk) at about 3 1/2 wks old. I have had some pups that weren't ready for it at that time, but each day I offered it until they took to it. By four weeks of age they are usually weaned to a thicker gruel (still made with Esbillac or Just Born) and fresh water and then just the puppy food and water (by six weeks).
Sounds like you have done a great job in helping the mom to feed what must have been a large litter.

I would wait until they are 4 weeks old to start them on puppy mush. It's easy to make. get good quality puppy for 5 pups I'd start with 2 cups of puppy food put it in a blender to chop it up and add puppy replacer milk you have ebeen feeding the pups and add it to the crushed up food to make a runny type of mush. Feed this to the pups in a pie dish 3 to 4 times a day and then offer them some water too in a pie dish. Still bottle feed them inbetween the puppy mush. By 5 weeks old you can make the mush less runny and make it with water instead of puppy milk. Still feed them 4 to 5 times a day and offer them water to drink. I dont think you will have to bottle feed them any more. By 6 weeks old just soak the puppy food in warm water and break it up with a fork. Offer water in a pie dish. By 6 weeks old just soak the food and give it to them and by this time they should have water avaible to them all the time. You can feed them this until they are ready to go to their new homes at 8 weeks old ok.
Good luck.

You should be feeding them puppy formula not milk. You also need to take them to the vet and have the checked. You also need to take your "baby puppy" to the vet and have her spayed so this doesn't happen again. No wonder there are so many homeless pets.

I read that you should start with soft dog food (sometimes the moms will regugitate their food for the pups) I guess try putting some in your hand and offer it to them. Where is the mama?
