So theres this guy, lets call him Frank, and my best friend, lets call her Matilda, used to date Frank. They dated for 2 whole years. Then they broke up this year. So I liked Frank and he liked me, so he asked me out, but we decided to keep it secret. Maddie found out and is now mad at me because she said that I lied. Now I feel really bad, but I don't know if it's really my fault. What do I do?!?

The best way to get her attention is to call her or tell her in person that you are sorry. And you really mean it. And you shouldn't of kept it a secret.
Tell her that you miss her.
And remind her of all the good memories you've had.
That usually works for me!
Good luck!!!

All I can really think of is to sit down and talk to her about it. Explain why you felt you should keep it secret -- hopefully it is that you didn't want to hurt her feelings. Tell her you never intended to hurt her, but you couldn't ignore your feelings for "Frank". If she refuses to talk to you, you could write her a letter explaining everything. That could even allow you to get everything written in an organized form without jumbling everything up because you were nervous about talking to her.
Regardless, the best course of action is to get everything out in the open with Maddie and to make sure that she knows everything will be in the open from now on -- no more secrets.

If it was a recent break up and she is still not over it she is probably very hurt that you are dating him, especially if he initiated the break-up. You were secretive so you obviously knew it was wrong, or you felt some guilt, so surely you can see why she is upset. You should have told her that you were considering going out with him. She may have been angry if you had, but at least you would have a clear conscience.

Honestly its your fault...and thats a huge NO NO...its not like its just a guy she liked...or a guy she saw for 1-2 weeks...2 years is a pretty big deal...good luck saying sorry...not to be rude but i wouldnt forgive you or take you back as a friend...it says alot about your who you are...and if you can do it once...well you know .

Yeah it's your fault, since she dated him for two years it was pretty serious and you should have known to keep your hands off of him whether you like him or not... You knew it was going to hurt her or you wouldn't have kept it secret to begin with.
She is going to be hurt no matter how you say your sorry, but you could start by saying that your sorry and won't do it again.

well in some way it is your fault.
i suggest if you want to keep her as a friend that you don't date her exs.
this is not a good idea and i bet if you found out that she did the same thing that you would also be angry.
so apologize and say that you wont do it again and stop seeing him, unless you don't ant her as a friend

1. Accept the blame whether it was your fault or not.
2. Apologize for hiding it from her and not talking to her about it first.
That's all you can do. The rest is up to her.

As a guy, i can tell you (from my end) a girl isn't worth a friend ship. Dump him gently, guys will always come along for you, but your best friend should be your priority. Unless your a cold *****, then just call her a skank and run off with your guy.

Call her up and tell her. Just tell her. You screwed up and you feel really bad about it. You would like her forgiveness and move on. You'll know that you've done everything you can to make amends. If she doesn't accept your apology....move on.
