I think you need to be realistic . . . having a baby is NOT all positive happy all the time . . . but in the end, for every minute that I want to pull my hair out . . . there are 10 moments of being truly blessed. We have 18 month old twins and struggled through infertility and IVF to conceive them so they were truly wanted and took a lot to get here . . . My son is completely mellow and easy going most days. He loves to hug people and give kisses. My daughter is a chatter box and loves to make mean pouty faces only to crack up laughing when you make it back at her. Then there is the constant noise in my house - one is frequently yelling MINE and other is yelling NO . . .the joyful symphony that makes you smile and makes you want to run away to hide with the pillow over your head all at the same time. It is about being realistic . . . this is the real world - there are tears that go with the smiles, yelling that goes with the laughing. Dirty diapers are never fun, the total exhaustion, but then remind yourself how nice it is to have someone to take care of that loves you unconditionally. Sometimes it is the really bad days that make you appreciate the good ones. Unfortunately, you have heard too many tales about the bad days . . . but as a mom, trust me, there are many more good ones! I would not change a thing.

Heart wrenching experiences can be turned for good, no matter what happens.

When we learn how to prevent that same sitation from happening to someone else.

When we can overcome the difficulties from the issue and be able to help someone else who is going through that situation.

When we learn how to walk a mile in the mocassins of someone and not judge them harshly.

All are benefits that come out of those experiences.

Endurance.
Patience.
Compassion for others in the same situation.

If I'm having a heart-wrenching experience and I continue to breathe and simply watch my emotions, I've found that they tend to come and go in waves. It seems to help to do that.

It could bring you closer to God. Also, it will help you help someone else in the same situation. Sometimes, it is a time of reflection and hope for the day when God will wipe away the tears of His people.

They say our "bones are strongest where they were broken".

That also fits the saying...
"Whatever doesn't kill us, makes us stronger!"

Trials give us patience. So the bible says...and so I have found.

I used to be a workaholic, but when I broke my leg, I learned to slow down and enjoy who ever was there with me.

I learned to appreciate even a cold glass of water, when I was bed bound, and had to wait for others to bring it!!!

my parents watched their first born son die in the hospital after he got hit by a truck when riding his bike (age 11).
they learned the importance of helmets...and if he hadn't died they would not have adopted me.....also, I arrived at home with them the exact date of his death 2 years after the fact. they say I'm a "gift" from him. after his death they stopped going to church and believing...it was too hard and sad for them. but since they now had a "gift" from him they felt more at peace with his death
because of his death i got to grow up with a loving family and live a privileged life

God can turn something bad into something good!

Sometimes the mind has to be offended, so that we can see the real condition of our heart.

Loving someone so much that you help them not to need you has a positive and heartwrenching conclusion, as any good parent knows.
