You'd file as married as long as you are married as of 12/31.

Since she has no income, you can file a joint return and will pay less tax than if you had filed as single. Whether you pay or get a refund will depend on how much tax you owe and what you had withheld, but you'll be in better shape taxwise than if you hadn't gotten married.

Even if you get married on December 31, you are married for your 2007 tax return.
Your filing status can only be Married Filing Jointly or Married Filing Separately. You can't file as Single.
You will certainly gain by filing as Married Filing Jointly if your spouse has no or little income.

The key day for every year is Dec 31st. What is your martial status as of Dec 31? If you are married on or before that date then you can file "Married filing Jointly" or Married Filing Separately which is the least desirable filing status to ever use.

you will file married filing joint. You file as you are on december 1. Whether you end up paying in or getting something back depends on how much tax was taken from your check during the year.
