Okay this will sound gross but...about 10 to 15 minutes after the kittens eats, you have to stimulate his butt. Um, rub it, because his mother would have licked it to stimulate it. Then put him immediately in the kitty litter box. I hope it works.

You will need to make sure the litter box is in the same place all the time. Show her where it is, rub her paws in the litter - cats need to know where they can dig (it's their instinct to bury it). Then, clean up all the places where she used to pee/poop, and use a disinfectant or specially made cleaner to erase the scent as much as possible. If she pooped outside the litter box, put the poop in the litter box, so she will be drawn to it the next time she has to go. That's the secret - cats like to go in the same area if possible, and she has to learn where it is acceptable. Just a warning too, some cats don't like a covered litter box even though it it is nice for us humans, you may have to keep the cover off so she will use it. Also, once she starts using the litter box, make sure to keep it tidy (clean it each day, and changing it at least once per week or more), since if it gets too messy, cats will search out another area to do their business.

Always a tough situation. What is the kitten's history; wild, shelter, home raised? If it was wild, it probably does not like the feeling of kitty litter; one of my cats was wild when I took her in, I put a small layer of litter on the bottom of the pan, then topped it with dirt. Each time I changed the box, I added more litter than dirt; it eventually worked, but it takes time and patience. If it was home raised or from a shelter/rescue, find out what they used. Cats don't like their brand of litter being changed, try to use what it had before.

If none of the above situations apply, then watch her closely, when she starts to go somewhere else, put her in the box. When you are gone, put her in the bathroom with the box. It can take time, but most cats get the hang of it.

Good luck!

You may need to confine kitty to a room where the litter box is until he/she gets the message. My male had a few accidents when he was very young but is well behaved now, unless the litter box is dirty.

Some young kittens don't like the feel of litter under their tender feet. Have you tried shredded paper or kitten litter, which if ingested won't harm the digestive tract?

You really have to watch them closely, they will start smelling around and maybe scratching at the floor. Pick your kitten up and put in litter box. A few times of catching it trying to go, and getting it in the litter box will show the kitten, that is where is should go. Cats have a natural instinct to cover their messes.

all you have to do is sit out a litter box and she or he will start using it ,but put it somewhere where she goes a lot.
Hope it helps! It helped my kitten get potty trained

have you tried placing the kitten in the litter box - taking the paw - and showing how to scratch the litter?

should also be some drops to put in it to 'show' that another kitty has been there - and it's ok to go here

availble at any pet store that's good

all the best

I'm not saying that i'm an expert but most cats who don't use their litter box means they do not like the location. Try moving it to a different area. Also, change litter...texture is also very important. Hope my advice works for your baby.

My kitties I would put in the box with the litter, and gently take their paws and make like they are digging. Cats are usually pretty easy. One had once accident, but went right to the box, there is the urge to dig.

That must be a very young kitten. Maybe she doesn't like the litter you are using. Try an unscented brand.
