there is really no need to give a cat a bath unless it is extremely dirty or you need to give it a bath for a cat show. the cat is growling when she hears water now because you have petrified the cat. she wants nothing to do with water now. I suggest that you try training your cat to enjoy and tolerate a bath before you make another attempt. wait a few weeks and gradually get your cat used to water, and never let her hear or see the running water though. give her one very small water "playtime" a month until you see that your cat can tolerate more, but very gradually. she cats have been getting bathed since they were kittens, so they have been raised with regular baths. an older cat would not handle the water so well if you just throw them into a tub of water.

Giving a cat a bath is not necessary unless the cat gets into something dangerous like a chemical or paint. They bathe themselves otherwise.
Doing a bath on a cat is traumatic for most cats. Her growling should be a major clue to this. I can't blame her for the reaction. Let her clean herself and leave baths alone.

Cats don't like baths, only a few breeds of cats like water. They generally don't need to be bathed, unless it is a long hair breed, they take care of themselves. They do make kitty wipes that are very effective, you just wipe the cat down.

cats don't need a bath unless they are actually really dirty; like covered in mud or something. if you were trying to give it a flea bath, then you should leave that to your vet because that works better. she growls because most cats don't like to be in water and it reminds her of that. for now she will have to get used to the sound of water. good luck!! =^.^=

I have had cats all my life. I have never had a cat that likes water. They generally don't,cats are very clean and clean there selves. They also make this moist wipes for cats. I have seen them at pet stores and just regular stores like target.I am sure your cat will like that a little better then a bath.

If your cat doesn't like water now it will never like water. Just go to the pet store and buy moisten wipe clothes for pets and clean her up like that. My cat likes water but that's because ever since she was little I gave her a bath once a week.

if you can't tell- cats LOATHE water...eventually your cat will stop growling after some time. The cat will wash himself- they have a "detergent" in their saliva...if he's gotten into something and needs a cleaning- go to a groomer...the cat WILL claw you- so much it will make you miss the growling
good luck!

Cats don't really like water so you seriously peeved her with the bath and have made her mad and fearful of any water now...I suggest thick gloves next time you attempt to bath her lol...and nope you can't dry clean them, thank goodness they don't need bathing often, it's hazardous to ones health.

Cats really, really hate water.
Usually cats can bath themselves by licking themselves. If your cat somehow cannot preform this task, then perhaps use some gloves. Don't throw your cat in the water, either. Believe me, it won't help.
