Prime Rib and/or Seafood. I myself am fond of seafood and could always find a good reason to eat some. And it's very healthy for you.

You had baby back ribs for Thanksgiving? How cool. I love those too! But I doubt my cardiologist would recomend them over my Salmon.. Ha Ha!

OK let me think of some alternative holiday food. Hmmmm!

Try Roasted Pork Shoulder with Pomagranate Sauce. I wish I knew if you have kids or relatives eating. This recipe will feed a bunch of people or could give lot's of leftovers. I've made pomegranate sauce before and it's very tasty and unique as well. Also pomegranate juice is very healthy! Here's a recipe I got from allrecipe's.com

OK this will be off the wall and definately not the same old Holiday type meal but something everyone LOVES ...

Pizza! Homemade Pizza.. Here's a good recipe for homemade pizza from a recipe site that I have made several times and it is real good! Sheesh I think I will blow everyones mind in my family and make pizza for Christmas sometime.
Bake some hot french bread with garlic and cheese baked onto it. A giant salad with olives and cheese on top.

You can have a couple of pasta side dishes like homemade mac and cheese with baked sharp cheddar on top. Yum! Because it's Christmas and the holiday thing you want to have some side dishes with the pizza to make it like the feast kinda thing. If your in the mood to cook, make some lasagna. Pizza, Mac n Cheese, Spaghetti, with a Sausage on the side, Lasagna, a big Salad with all kinds of fancy lettuce, Hot baked cheese bread.

Do this recipe you won't be sorry...

Pizza will definately be different. You can make it an Italian Cuisine Christmas theme. You can be different every year. You can be known as the person who makes a different theme every year. Now you got me going.

I'm a single dad that loves to cook. I'm not a great cook or anything but I love to cook. And I love to try new things as it seems you do to. Good Luck with your Christmas Dinner.

Happy Holidays to you! I have found that there's a lot of good cooks on Yahoo Answers and I'm sure you'll get some good ideas. I know I have...

All the years I had small children I always just had steak, baked potatoes and salad. It was easy and fast to fix so I had time to play with children with their new toys. I had a lot of children so we did not eat steak except special occasions. Now that they are grown I usually have a standing rib roast, stuffed potatoes, whatever vegetables look good and a fancy desert. It is just not a day I want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, yet I want it to be somewhat special.

We did a stuffed crown of of pork last year and it was fantastic, except there was so much meat we couldn't form a cirlce with them meat, so we cut it in half and laid it over the stuffing. It was a nice change from Turkey. This year we are thinking of either roasting a leg of lamb or doing a turducken. Really, it's just another meal. We don't buy gifts, so we go all out on the dinner - do anything you want. There are no rules.

Prime rib is a good suggestion, but if that will break the bank you could do a nice pork roast. There are tons of festive recipes on http://www.epicurious.com. I'd go for one a bit fruity and spicy. Serve with a nutty wild rice salad and garlic sauteed green beans. Maybe scalloped potatoes too.

Get yourself a traditional Christmas goose. It will end up so greasy you won't want to eat it, a lot of fat on a goose.
Better bet would be a standing rib roast (prime rib). Rack of lamb would be good also, don't forget the mint jelly. Either would go good with baked or mashed potatoes and some candied baby carrots.

get a whole tenderloin, and frozen puff pastry dough, roll out the dough about 1/4 inch thick. seasoned the tenderloin. wrap the pastry dough around the loin. take the extra dough and cut out Christmas's decorations with your cookie cutters. stick the DECs on the loin wherever you want. with a brush lightly brush on butter over the whole thing. bake it until the dough is golden brown, the meat will be medium rare. serve immediately with a lingonberry/walnut sauce reduced in red wine and glucose(thick sugar reduction). sounds hard but very easy. "Chateaubriand"

My family always goes for the seafood- shrimp, clams, and a main course of lobster... usually served with some pasta or something.
It sucks, because I don't eat seafood, but it's a tradition that lots of other people seem to like.

Tuduckin.
You'll have to order it, so look for it online. Its a turkey, stuffed with a duck that has been stuffed with a chicken. Between each layer of foul is a layer of stuffing. I had this at a party last year. It was excellent.
